Are you paying a company to run this server?

-or-

Are you running this server directly from your personal computer?

Unless you have a T1 or T3 line it's probably not going to be worth your time. Cable or DSL can host a few players, that's about it. Or at least that was my experience back in the day. Maybe things are different now.

Got shrub running finally... cannot get +salute command to work for either shoving or dragging corpses tho.... constant work in progress.

If anyone can throw me a list of shrub commands and/or cvars and variables, i would very appreciative of that!

You need to run a T1 line at least but that's pretty impractical cost-wise. Rent a server from a GSP and using the web-controls from that is cheaper.

Krazy, Today's Internet are in the 100mbps downloads / 10s 20s mpbs upload averages with the advent of Cable/Fiber TVs and Internet. Providing the Cable provider is a competent one and doesn't enforce retarded bandwidth caps. It's possible to host a server (practically) but just not a large one like a 24 man-server (About 100+/20 upload/download).

One of my old clan mates tried running one with his own PC (with shrubmod) and with his given Internet plans nearly a decade ago. We were able to run 8 players on a 16-slot test one-day server until it's full and the server lags into oblivion.

Obviously not going to be hosting 64 players on rtcw ... lol or 18 for that matter, i'm just trying to get it running smoothly as far as the mod its variables, options and stuff like that... can't get shove or +salute working dammit! lol

I ran a 24 man tf2 server on one of my home servers using my 150/65mb fios connection without an issue. Plus now they match the download speed so its 150/150mbps.
