Another Banned Newbie

Postby Hopeful123 » Sat Jul 19, 2014 11:30 pm

Hey all,

I read through a lot of posts before creating this, but I was unable to find a solution. I apologize if I missed it.

I have the same problem that others have reported; I just bought the game and it says I am BANNED whenever I try to join the beach server. I updated my PB and did everything else found in this post (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26211). I have attempted to determine my GUID by typing /pb_myguid into my console, but it appears that my cd-key is the only thing to show (Shows up as XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX .> GUID=). I assume this is the problem, so if someone could explain how to determine or change my GUID to something acceptable I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Good point, I should have mentioned that I also changed my name.

Alright, after further reading I now realize why changing my GUID seems like a foolish question since it is directly tied to my cd-key. However, it does not appear that I have one as I originally mentioned. Is there ANYWAY to rectify this? Your beach server appears to be the best option available, and I would love to experience that nostalgia :)

Make sure you have a file named "rtcwkey" in your "Main" forlder. If you edit that file it should be your cdkey minus the last to characters.
If /cl_guid reveals that you have an *Unknown* guid, join a server then type the following:
/pb_cl_enable; pb_system 1; pb_writecfg; reconnect;

The rtcwkey file is there but it does show the last two characters. Should I delete them? If by *Unknown* you mean that nothing shows up, then yes, that's my issue. I will connect to a random server and type that into the console.

Alright Junior, I did what you said and everything appear to have worked. However, I still cannot enter the beach server.

As long as you entered your cdkey correctly I would leave the rtcwkey file alone but try cl_guid first and then after you enter those commands try pb_myguid. Also make sure you run wolfmp.exe as admin.

Join the server now so I can see why you get kicked.

Since I bought the game on steam I didn't have to type in my cd key. The version in the game and in rtcwkey match.

Alright, will attempt to join the server before doing those commands again. Character name is Envelope.

Alright, the GUID that appeared after cl_guid was the same as the default GUID. I assume this is the problem. The last eight characters were (8DEAF2FB).

After I ran through those steps again I still did not have a GUID appear. Any luck on your end seeing why I couldn't connect?

You're cdkey is emtpy [04.28.2012 00:00:00] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx8deaf2fb "" "" NoKey

Delete the rtcwkey file and re-enter your cdkey

Alright, problem solved. Thanks! It's weird that my cd-key wasn't there when I went to type it in, yet it was present when I found it in the console. Whatever.

yea Steam screws all the new players but you can just download the game for free and use http://etkey.org/ to generate a new key since the PB servers are no longer active to actually check the key.

There is a patched binary that solves the guid issues. Basically a nulled cd key check that along with relaxed PB guid setting allows multiple keys at the same time as well as allows any non-banned key to play - banned guids still can't enter. Downside is that anyone can simply change one letter and bypass any guid restrictions while upside is obvious, no issues for new players.

Don't know if pros outweigh cons but at the end of the day, one can get any guid due et anyway.
