SM bus Controller?

Does anyone know what an SM Bus Controller is? The only problem I'm having is of all things the floppy drive won't work correctly, I've checked the wires, reinstalled the drivers and done just about everything, the only thing I can think of is I have this SM Bus Controller which windows nor I can locate a driver for. Please help, it would be greatly appriciated. (I need the floppy to flash my bios)
