Do you think gaming has real life effects?

Postby {NNC}Charged » Tue Jun 24, 2003 7:12 pm

Alright, I was watching tv today, and I saw some stupid thing on news stating how 'war games' are the number one popular genre of gaming in america.Based on their poll, the people who play these 'war games' were 78% more likely to serve in the armed forces to defend your country..What do you guys think? Vote honestly, think about it if you have to.

I also voted the hell yeah. If there's one thing that pisses me off most about the youth in america, is the fact that they aren't brought up to respect our country. I can't express how much I hate liberals, and there's no amount of words I can put in to emphasize my hatred toward other foreign countries who hate the U.S.A. because of what our government has done.

Not to mention, I also think that these games do have a tiny effect on our public lives away from the gaming community. How? It all varies.

I voted no chance in hell, seeing as how Canada can send in troops to Afghanistan without guns, leaving German troops to protect them

DItto for me.

No "Been there, Done that" answer 6 years USN here.

Never before in the history of the world has one nation been so utterly superior in the Armed Forces and hasn't run around gobbling up everything they could. We are a nicer people. We go, blow living hell out of everything there. then we come home and leave the survivors in peace.

Its sooooo cool to be American!

I dont know how much action gaming effects the state of the mind. I do think people that are atracted to shooters have some of that state of mind to begin with. (IMO)

Also been there, done that...12 years in the Army National Guard, the last 6 of which was in Field Artillery, which may explain why I'm so obsessed to perfect my mortar firing on ET.

Please don't get me started again on liberals! :P
