That's because it's beta testing. Almost all beta testings look like that. Once they are done they finish the graphics. If you went to the site they had pictures of the final product.
From the looks of it, looks like he has a ton of cvars in use. Im sure it will look good w/o the cvars he has on or if it is because its beta testing it will look good later.

Alright, i beta tested today. I did the 3 most featured maps, Aztec, Temple, and Arnhem. All three are very well made, just with a few spawn bugs and doors opening the wrong way. So it shouldn't be to far from the release. Lighting is the last thing that they have to finish, but we played 8 on 8 to 10 on 10 most of the time, and gameplay was fantasic. Panzers aren't as useful, but still deadly in the right hands. Snipers, will like it. Like in OSP, medics aren't allowed to drop guns, so theres a happy balanced between LTs and Meds. For you engineers, there is a lot to do, and you will be busy buidling stuff the whole game. None of the maps we played featured a lot of close combat, so most of you guys will have to get used to shooting from across the map. Far different from Beach :p. Lots of cover, and lots of teamwork seems to be the basis behind the whole idea in the mod. It sure was a lot of fun, the only downfall, which might not be a downfall, is the objective is always the same. Build your generator or destroy your enemies first.

It just sucks that they waited so long to make a new mod:( Sadly, I don't see this mod becoming competitive or played on a whole lot like Shrub. Although, it does seem pretty need.

Yea your right KillerMike, too late to make a successful client download mod. As far as competition goes, it might have a chance, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Its because of the different gameplay that the mod brings that old maps cant be used. Read the website and you should understand why current maps wont work.
