hmm.. .well I wouldn't think that a FilePlanet mirror would harbor a virus.. never can tell nowadays.. but I really doubt it.. and those banners and popups from the FilePlanet site is a real pain in the ass .!! And if it helps your cause, I do have Counterstrike on my XP box right now and it plays with no problems, even though I very rarely play the game anymore.... the cheating got waaaay out of hand.

Good luck with the rebuild.. and if you or anybody else has decided to give Microsoft the boot and run Linux, give a shout to what the best emulator is that allows one to play our favorite game.

well...im not worried about games...i got my science fair project (ut oh) due the friday when we get back, and i dont have any typing programs on my comp now. also...all that i had typed for it is gone.

I wish I could help you more cow, you say it froze during the download and not even the installation, cause if it was during the download I have no idea but if you were installing it when it froze then I think we all have a good idea of where to start. I have MS office XP and all that, if you could think of a good way to transfer these files........ I have anything you need cow I just have no way to get it to you.

Hey Cow, a similar freezing effect took over my computer, maybe the source of the prob was similar. I had just purchased Half Life Platinum, so I installed at least one of those Halflife games, and all went well until i decided I didnt like playing those games because they sort of sucked, and I uninstalled it all. Thereafter my computer froze up after every little thing, although I could still run programs like Wolfenstein fine. So that could be it.

Also, I made the mistake of installing Microsoft Direct X9, which I realised later was stupid since I didnt even have a video card to support it. So that messed up the ActiveX causing my computer to f up the clipboard functions.

But in your case its probably just some bad porn. No, just kidding. Hey, good luck.

a goomba is when someone is gibbed because someone else lands on top of them. a goomba was one of those mario characters that you jumped on.

thx guys...later on today, im hoping to be back on wolf. sure, i may have to do my entire science fair project from scratch again, but hey, i have almost 2 more weeks

that gives me 1 week and 4 days to play wolf, and 1 day to do the project. well, im *praying* that i can get back on later today, thx for all the advice guys.

guess what iceman, if u have a ping of over 150, its gonna be near impossible, wanna know why? lets say u are landing on a guys head. thats his LAG image, so the server sees it as landing on the ground. too early, and u block him. u gotta land on the front of his head. id say about .05 is about the time u have to get it right.

i feel so stupid
i put CS on my D drive along with my other games, the recovery only deletes the C drive, so this entire time ive had CS on my comp, oh i feel like a moron.
