europe has won qcon 1 of 2 times and teh other time canada won so correctly usa has never won qcon

theres never been a decent sized lan tourney in europe. And in the early stages of wolf ds, drs were just brutal. We actually played a late night game vs dark side a long long time ago, we drew too...but then they didnt have a full team out (played on US servers, nyc or chi iirc).

Yeah merl was in dh briefly (right at the end of when we played).

I know the name mowgli from j3 or seomthing.

SavageParrot: having played against the best on both sides of the pond (and I mean online and not just at qcon) I came to the conclusion that for out and out smashmouth individual aim US/Canada were better but teamplay and cunning wise the euros were best.

qcon is long gone, what about the latest BFB or BOB3??
BFB winners- Remedy, Slaya, Chris (serum), and Rambo.
BOB3 winners- you had animosity which was remedy, rambo slaya, slag and some guys i have no idea who they were :o.

but everyone thinks rem hacks, maybe he's the best since I know for a fact he doesn't. At the same time though, I don't think he's the best, so why don't people say things like raziel hacked?? or someone from svper??? like whtas up with that

well mowgli is me . i saw the BOB3 final and it was some insane shoots by the americans but ive never seen a panzer that bad and the tactics was neither anything speciel. I saw ownishcup 2 final too svper vs one and i can say that the europeens got TACTICS and usa got AIM.

Yeah I'd probably go along with that I think it's a mentality thing the us is all 'rambo in' and trust to yourself whereas the europeans seem to go for strength in numbers and fields of fire. All I know is I get my ass spanked a lot harded on euro servers even though I have a low ping. There's just no space for rambo tactics, you go alone and you get put down.

If anyone knows slag I havent been able to get in touch with him for ages and wanted to say hi. Rambo has gotten better and better from what I've seen, top lad too

Ever heard of Dreamhack in Sweden? Biggest LAN there is.
And SHGopen in Denmark, mostly cs tho. :/

Yes they are lans but I assumed we are talking about RTCW LANS of which there has never been one in europe that has been of sufficient magnitude to get people from all over the world to go....happy now

Angel = a terrible player. No sense of teamplay, aim is ropey, just not very good.

Regarding the mouserate stuff and settings in general. You're spot on. It was rather odd, if you took a geographical position from Germany and headed east you would find more and more players who were practically unhittable. Not lag, not speed straffing, but just stand in front of you and does not take a bullet. One of the most well known clans for this in our cirlces was de.nVidia (and rewind). Ironically they made a video of one of them shooting an omg! guy (uk team #2 and arguably #1 in UK for a short time). Each hit they did the maths of the damage the guy should have taken. He took over 300hp of damage yet only registed about 40. I am and have always been convinced that this is down to settings be they personal or server side. The german servers have always been the worst for random settings and are generally appaling to play on.
