FUCK THAT, it matters a lot to me and many others. Over 3/4 of =TAO= stopped playing RTCW because of hackers. It's the hackers who ruin any game, don't pass the blame onto the people who choose not to cheat.

FINAL THOUGHT : Instead of burning the great players, yall should try to strive to be great like them one day, Skibb is one of the top players still around, He prolly kills me 8 out of 10 times, but he can die, and that's how I know he does'nt hack, so instead of crying, why don't you spec him sometime and possibly learn some pointers, just because someone kills you over and over , it doesn't mean that they hack, instead take it in a positive note and maybe pm them some questions, asking them such and such, he was always open to chat with me and my fellow clan members. sidenote: i can't believe some of you are actually hating on KillerMike.. I've been in the competitive scene, albeit on and off, since the beginning, and he is one of the most modest and sedate players that's ever played. He'll be the first to tell you he doesn't have outstanding reflexes or talent, but he practiced against better players and has become very decent because of it. the guy always played against high-skilled teams and almost always lost (sry), but he took his beatings like a man.

so if you mediocre (at best) players are going to listen to anybody, please for gods sake give mike a shot. the guy knows how you feel and is a very decent person

There's actually a #wolfenstein channel on irc where osp players hang out and pug from time to time. There's also a ton of ET players who could come to ecgn and make you guys think they were hackers.

To be honest I've been on vent with Skibb time and time again and spec'd him time and time again I can say myself he doesn't hack. He has a great ratio yes, but if you can place your crosshairs in the right spot you will get that.

I have had a few games where i have had a 60+/15ish k/d ratio, so it can happen. Skibb is just more consistent.

Warpig does not need to see the likes of Infensus, 4K , Narf , << , DH, Lemmings etc to know a cheat when he sees one. Take a look at the History of CAL and TWL , many players thought to be great or legit turned out to be cheats.

...and the majority of them turned out to be just great players. Most of which, you probably never encountered in the entire time that you played (sat in limbo) twl quadruple upsilon.

I don't know about anyone else but I started learning about configs because back when this game was popular I was running a celeron (*insert joke here) with a TNT2 getting 40-60 frames on stock settings. When I finished my first config I had got it up to 76, but better than that it was a solid 76, so I could start learning how to trickjump. These days, I use a radically different config than back then (updated it whenever there was something that I want to change) and it became what it is now (the same since mid-2004), which is pretty much stock but with spawn/class binds and virtually no HUD; both of which are almost entirely aesthetic with the exception of spawn binds. The point is that the majority of players who originally used highly modified configs did so for the sake of higher/stable fps, which is a huge advantage in comp... the difference between jumping the sea wall breach and sitting around waiting for dyno to blow. Now, they use them (if those configs still resemble the ones that they once used) more than anything because it would be pointless to re-adjust to a stock config. Not to mention all of the people that I know who still have the same PC as back then. Especially since a modified config (including under the current PB cvarlist) yields such an insignificant advantage when talking about lighting, and almost no advantage in terms of timenudge etc... the majority of claims being nonsense that has been acquired by various dimwits using their inane google searches as references. [If anyone wants a real explanation of FPS jumps, I can give it to you]

I used a heavily modified (mostly lightning and graphics) config back in '02-03 or so, and I didn't play any better than I do now, nor did I play to any siginificant advantage. If that were true, then I'd probably still be using it. If I tried to go back to a low texture config right now I'd probably fork my eyes out at how god awful it looks.

That Agent players are referring to stats says it all, any fool can sit and cc or set up in spots that give great stats. It takes a more skilled player to constantly go into the thick of it and hammer away.
