I believe there was just a recent topic on this forum on how getting a better frame rate will improve many aspects of the game.

So yes it does give an advantage over those who stick with the initial install cfg. I'm sure that there was/is many people who don't even know what a cfg. file is.
Stop trying to deny that it doesn't, it's not fucking rocket science to understand that you just improved your game by opening and changing your config. file.
