Spore Pros/Cons

Well......I WAS gunna get spore. But like most peeps on the forums I am gunna link. i tend to reformat my PC everynow an then.

Its all about EAs DRM. 3, I repeat, 3 MAX installs. You can install on the same PC several times. ASLONG as you dont change the user you installed under.

Theres alot of smack going around about this I think. Even the Amazon site is getting hit. Cause everyone is bringing the score down to I think is a 1.3 now cause of the DRM.

Spore is finally out?
Gasp. What next, Duke Nukem Forever?

That's too bad about the DRM, I've been looking forward to this game for 2 years. But SecuROM is evil, it installs as a rootkit and is incrdibly difficult to get rid of. I have it on my PC, and I can't even tell which game installed it.

Installing a rootkit on the player's PC = bad. It triggers security software, and there's no way to tell if it is legitimate. If i was a pirate, I'd install rootkits and call them SecuROM.

Installing a rootkit without the knowledge of the user = unforgiveable.

Yeah I was going to get this game, but I refuse to now that I know of that stupid DRM. .

What a stupid move, talk about taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back in steps to stop piracy.

Though it doesn't surprise me, EA has been know to do stupid moves, and is always associated with stupidity in the gaming industry.
