If you don't want this stuff started, don't vote for Lieberman. Being from Connecticut myself, I've learned all to well the damage that he can cause.

While this might be somewhat popular in the Senate, I seriously doubt it'll get very far in the House. While the House Judiciary Committee would be pretty enthusiastic about this, the House Energy and Commerce Committee would likely be fairly opposed to it, which would slow its progress. I wouldn't worry about it this year, at least. That doesn't mean you shouldn't write your Congressman or Senator - writing to McCain would probably be the best, since he'd probably the most sympathetic to our position.

I hate all politics. Why dont they leave us (the public) alone. Let them have their fancy jobs and bang their secrataries while their wives stay at home and cook and clean and watch the kids. Screw them they know nothing about computers and technology and what we do. Theyre all rich bastards who want money money money. Thats all anything is about...money. I have KaZaA they better not do this shit.

if my DVD player isn't hooked up to the internet, i dont care how much software or hardware they build in, it isn't going to be able to communicate with the government and "report" me.. and i'm sure hackers will have a field day with cracking the shit out of it..

well sure, but the part about all personal computers having to use this ware shit is what pisses me off. It also basically says, that if linix/freeBSD (which most likely wouldn't integrate the policeware bullshit) doesn't integrate it, its users will then be subject to 5 yrs or 500,000 bucks in fines, basically, linix/BSD would be illigal. not too terribly likely that it will happen, but with what else is all going on right now, I'm kinda seriously fucking scared for my own rights. http://www.eff.org
