Good news for US (and World) economy

Economic Growth

I'm no master economist, but to me this looks like good news. When the US economy improves, so does usually the world's. "A rising tide lifts all boats."

I especially like the mention of tax cuts being a factor in this growth.

W00t, maybe there will be a job for me when I graduate college. ;)

The tax cuts were a small factor, but all it really is is an 'advancement,' families got their taxes early, so they spent it early.

The big boost was interest rates. I have a buddy that does refinancing, he made a killing before the rates went back up.

Lets say you still owe 15 years left on your mortage, he basicly was cutting it in half(down to 7 or 8 years), and saving you money each month. This equals more money in the pocket for the biggest contributars(consumers) which ment more spending which means economic growth.

Then add in(like they pointed out), industries where financing is done(cars), and you will see large boosts in sales to do the lowered(and in some cases, NONE), interest rates.

This is all the Treasury and Greenspan. I hope Bush isn't stupid enough to remove him(no one has been since Reagan put him in his position).

Then again, he might die anyday now...

Cutting taxes helping us? Haha. The only thing they really did was hurt our social services (you know, the things the government provides to us).

Well it's good to see the US economy growing, because the US debt is at record levels.

You should not really depend on the government to provide things anyway.

You should depend on yourself.

(Tax cuts work just about every time, worked for Kennedy, worked for Reagan, and now working for Bush. As a matter of fact, the last time we had a huge jump in the GDP was 2 years after Reagan implemented his tax cuts.)

I was talking about Greenspan but if Bush died as well, I wouldn't mind. :)

7.2 % GDP growth is impressive for the US. Too bad the job market still sucks. If older people would just retire then the rest of us would be alot better off.

Dang, I guess the lowlifes will just have to get off their sorry asses and find a job now (which will help the unemployment #'s).

News Flash: Give a man a meal and he'll expect another. Give a man the means to provide his own meal and he'll prosper.

Social services are bankrupt and the biggest spending problem this government has.

The big boost was interest rates.

Actually, individual spending probably accounts for about 9% of the US economy. It really has to do with corporate spending from leveraged positions on stock options from the recession.
