Wow... anyone ever seen this before?

Hey guys: probably haven't seen me much. I'm Ryan's little bro 
but anyway.
Just bought an abit nf7-s, and my audio and video have been really screwed up.
Onboard sound is totally bad. Every sound is replaced with a loud "noise" sound. Like GRAHHHRGGH! Er.. something like that. Anyway, while playing CS and stuff, SOME sounds will come through over the noisy sound. So instead of RMAing, I wanted to see if it was hardware or software. So I put in a soundcard. Now this is interesting - the right speaker/headphone will play a nonsense sound, kind of like when I have the onboard, but quiter and it gets louder with "louder" sounds. Yet, BOTH headphones/speakers play music flawlessley. Now, I'm assuming that the drivers/playback technique between the two (music/games) are different, but I don't know much about audio or sound drivers and stuff.
Now heres another flucked up thing about it. I get really, really wierd colored noise for some images on the internet and on things like AIM Today window. (yeah, I'm not using trillian )
Here's what I've done so far:
Installed EVERY windows update
Installed, reinstalled, installed, reinstalled, checked for latest mobo drivers
Tried cat 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9 vc drivers (reinstalled, installed, etc)
Reinstalled windows
REformatted and reinstalled
Reformatted, killed the partition, and reinstalled
Contacted my reseller and tried what they told me to do. Also, I'm waiting for instructions on how to get to some control panel to take a screeny.
Anyway, here's a screeny of the "noise"
Oh, and applications like Winamp have screwed up or distorted graphics
Wow just realized something. On dxdiag whenever there are sounds run through the hardware buffer, no crap is played throught the left headphone with the soundcard. The integrated sound doesn't support hardware buffering. That sucks...

just kidding...do you have a pci video card hanging around? Try that and see if it helps. Not a good solution but it will help trouble shooting...possible IRQ conflict?

yeah I was just gonna say something is probably conflicting. go to rage3d.com and post this in the general hardware forum on the left, you'll get a ton of responses.
It's gotta be something hardware, because after reformatting it wouldn't do it again if it was software.
Maybe your mobo is damaged?

I've gone through 2 8rda+s that had to be RMAed, so I was dreading the idea
but yeah - its a possibility.
Ok, I'll go post in Rage3d - hopefully they can help me out.
When Ryan gets back I'll try his video card. All else fails I'll buy a $10 PCI vc and try that out.

Also, hit http://www.nforcershq.com and post/read their forums. The audio thing rings a bell, I think it's noise bleeding over from the line-in or something. Try muting everything you aren't using in your audio control panel, might fix it. Also, there's new nforce drivers out (3.13) that might have a fix if you aren't using them yet. Just remember, if you update the nforce drivers, you REALLY should do it in this manner to prevent issues:
1. Uninstall ALL ATI stuff (I'd recommend the little ati utility, followed by drver cleaner). Reboot. Either skip windows reinstall of drivers, or let it search and leave 'em as unknown.
2. Uninstall all Nvidia drivers, then use driver cleaner again to clean the system. reboot. Let windows redetect everything, it should not be able to install any drivers for 'em.
3. Install new nforce stuff. Reboot. Windows might require another reboot, kinda varies...
4. Install ATI stuff, reboot.
It's a pain, but it'll keep you from having driver issues. The ati stuff is b/c uninstalling the nforce drivers will kill the AGP GART driver, and cause ALOT of headaches with the ati drivers...
You'll notice my sig, I have EXACT same board. It friggin rocks BTW!

I have the non-s, so it is just the NF7. No soundstorm, and I THINK it has SATA... not sure. Anyway, I'll try that. I'll get back to you..
