EA has released new screenshots of the epic warfare in Battle for Middle-earth. The team that created Red Alert 2 and Generals is developing the real time strategy game using the Generals engine. The Battle for Middle-earth offers both good and evil campaigns set in locations taken from the movies. Players command a variety of armies from the films - each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Battle for Middle-earth utilizes the digital assets created for the movies and features exclusive voiceovers from the real actors as well as actual footage from the three motion pictures. The game is scheduled for a summer 2004 release:

Edit:
Just watched the trailer and it's looking pretty good. Especially at the end when Gandalf does that move that knocks everyone down in a circle... If done right, all of the LOTR games will be great. (The Two Towers on the consoles were awesome. Can't wait for ROTK which will be on PC this year, sweeeet!)
