1972 North Vietnamese launch Hue Offensive
Following three days of the heaviest artillery and rocket bombardment of the war, between 12,000 and 15,000 soldiers of Hanoi's 304th Division--supported by tanks, artillery, and antiaircraft units equipped with surface-to-air missiles--sweep across the Demilitarized Zone. They routed the South Vietnamese 3rd Division and drove them toward their rear bases.

Nice site, Bossman!! I'm a history junkie, myself. Currently reading a biography of Ben Franklin. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts..

I assume you read Stephen Ambrose history of D-Day? how about James Bradley's Flags of our Fathers, story of the flag raisers of Iwo. I haven't read Ben Franklin yet, it's on my list though

This website is lacking on the pictures, however, when it comes to information about war, it is premium!

Listen to this guy.. doesn't like history without pictures.
I haven't read any of those books yet, Boss, I've been jumping around alot.. my last few reads were "Guns, Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond, "The Sorrow of War" by some Vietnamese guy (can't remember his name, it's a story about his time in the NVA), and "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich".

The pictures sometimes help explain what the text is trying to say...

Ambrose did a great job of taking D-Day and walking you through it, hour by hour, beach by beach, using mostly first person accounts. Once you read it you will be amazed that we actually were successful (from our luck that the area German commander coincidentally took that day of all days to travel to visit his girlfriend to all the mishaps on the landing itself).

Yeah, I've seen many a documentary on D-day, and it's really amazing that "Overlord" went as well as it did.

Listened to the audiobook of the Ben Franklin biography last time I had to drive home. Fascinating man, I wish I could remember just 10% of what I learned about him.
I recommend that to anyone talking a long driving trip in the future. It's a great way to pass the time, and to "read" the books you've been intending to get aroudn to reading for years.

I looked at the website and it is a great research website! You seem to enjoy killing the other team more on BF when you know why you're killing them.
