Detonator 41.09 w/ Ti 4600?

Postby xalar » Wed Feb 12, 2003 7:26 pm

First off, my apologies if this has already been addressed elsewhere on these boards. I recently downloaded/installed Nvidia's release 41.09 detonator drivers for Win XP. I'm running a Ti 4600 and before this install the 40.72 release of the drivers. Upon installation and reboot, I get a complete black screen once Windows loads. You'll have to pardon my stupidity if it's obvious I've done something wrong somewhere along the way, but anyone have any ideas as to what's up with this? Any help is much appreciated, thanks. :)

I'm not sure what is exactly causing the problem, but I got the very same thing on my machine. I never tracked down the problem, so I just reverted to some older drivers.

Even if the newer drivers did increase performance, it would only be about 1-2 fps more, so it's not like your missing anything.

Just use your old drivers, I think its something wrong in the driver, I loaded that same driver your talking about and it was "not digitally signed by microsoft" and fucked with my system, so I rolled back my driver aswell.

Odd..using those same drivers with my GF2 GTS and WinME, no issues, and I actually GOT the 25% increase in performance they said it would give..which was nice for a change, as I usually see no improvements and often see a loss of performance.

I'll go with the others, revert to an older driver. I now have a few older games that won't run, but...I don't play them anyway, my daughter does, and she's got NEW games to play, so she ain't whining too much..well..not about the games anyway..the rest is typical teen female crap.
