Does anybody else feel that Mel Gibson overacted the part in We Were Soldiers?

He does overact a bit in most of his parts. However, my uncle was one of the 3 survivors of the platoon that was cut off and surrounded by the VC. He watched the movie and stated that it's pretty close to reality - without going into specifics. He still has some pretty f***ed up memories about the experience...
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in the boat and drink beer all day...

If you're referring to the animated version of Fellowship... I've heard that before, but I haven't seen it in so long, I don't know... it's never on cable, and I don't feel like buying it, so I really don't care enough to find out...

I was referring to movies in general, which you mentioned. PJ is not the first to slave over a movie trying his hardest to make it perfect.

Kubrick did that to each of his films. So much so that it would take years for a movie to be finished.

Speaking of trilogies, think Troy will spawn "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey"? Hmmm.

"Troy" is "The Iliad." A more likely sequel would possibly be "The Aeneid" along with "The Odyssey." I doubt that either will be made though, since the Odyssey has been done and Aeneid is only remotely linked to the Battle of Troy. And it looks like this is meant to stand alone.
