I didn't think the MLB could be any more desparate for money...

Figures it's the two teams that already have FRIGGIN HUGE BUDGETS.

Screw baseball anyhow.

American past-time my ass, whatever happened to just getting drunk? Gotta be way more entertaining than a 5 hr baseball game.

No offense to anyone who likes/plays/thinks about/wants to play baseball. :D

What about getting drunk at a baseball game and shouting abuse at the players, surely this is the pinacle of drunken amusement, isn't it?

Well all I know is I attended a Bruins game at the new fleet and it was sterile. I was badgering Brett Hull each time he placed a hit in the corner (cause I had front row behind the net) and people were looking at me like I was insane. I'll never go back, they ruined hockey.

You guys can picture me drunk at a hockey game right? The guy next to me want to go at it with me at one point. Without him knowing I had placed an expack under his chair hehehehe.

IT"S A FRIGGIN HOCKEY GAME!

Long live the days of the Gahden!

Baseball, what a joke! I saw this spiderman article today and almost puked. What F'n sell outs ! Next they will be sporting Bud ads on thier uniforms. I remember the old days when the boards in hockey where pure white. Now not only is there bill boards (no pun intended) in your face, they painted ads under the ice ! Sickening ! All about the holy dollar bill (as Queensryche quoted in "operation mindcrime")
F baseball ! Does anyone remember not too long ago we did not have a world series because of those greedy (Fat) bastards !!

Brett Hull...pfft....

He was decent on the blues, but now he is a has-been.

Also...the blues have been to the playoffs for the past 20 years (setting a record) and still getting no cup...

If you stop and think about it, it's a sign that their business model is failing, or at least changing in bad direction. The fact that the two biggest teams need to sell Ads in order to pay for their operations is a sign that they aren't getting the revenue they used to from other sources (like FANS).

Personally, I wish minor leagues got more coverage. We have a couple decent teams here in Norfolk - the Tides (baseball), and the Admirals (hockey).

When I see things like this, I always wonder, do the marketers really think they'll be getting a return on their investment? Is putting Spiderman bases in the game going to affect the number of people who show up at the theater? Somebody, somewhere, thought it would.

Wow. I am shocked that George is upset with this idea especially given the fact that he is spending out the wazoo.
