Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

I'm with you Ruci, it will get worse. We will win, but it won't be as easy as it has been these last few days.

I personally could care less if any one kisses our ass or not, I would not expect any country to kiss any other countries ass, but at least have the backbone to stand up for what you think is right. backing a dictator who has killed more muslims than any one in the world and has used WMD already (and 12 years to do what the world has asked of them), is not very courageous on your countries part, you could have found many other things to disagree with the US on to prove your point of not wanting to kiss our ass, but this should not have been one of them, the only people you were hurting were the iraqi's.

here is a recent article (I posted this somewhere else around here) from some human shield who just crossed the boarder into Jordan from iraq.

A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip "had shocked me back to reality." Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera "told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists. Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."

Your country has a lot to be proud of.

besides any country that allies itself with france is asking to be stabbed in the back, hell, they have been doing it to us for years.

Glad I opened a can of worms!

As far as the "Palestinians", there are no such people. There has never been, in the history of the world, a nation or state called Palestine. The world has been fed so much crap from the PLO and their enablers over the years that people don't know what to think anymore.

A little history. After WWII, Israel was created from land owned/controlled by the british as a place where Jews could have land of there own. Before this happened there was little to no interest in the area because it is basically a wasteland. As far as Jerusalem being holy to Muslims, Jerusalem is not mentioned ONCE in the Koran. How many times is Mecca or Medina mentioned?

So in an attempt to eradicate the Jews and drive them into the sea, in 1967 Syria, Jordan and Egypt gathered a huge attacking force on the Israeli border. But before they could move across and attack, the Israeli forces preempted them. The arabs were routed and all three countries lost real estate in the process. Jordan lost what is now called the west bank, syria lost the golan heights, and egypt lost what is now gaza and the sinai peninsula. Israel later gave back the Sinai.

So who are the "palestinians"? Yasser Arafat was born in egypt.

Basically these various arab countries lost a war to Israel. They now want to use their defeat as an excuse to get sympathy in an attempt to destroy all of the Jews and Israel. They get backing from a lot of the rest of the world because the people in other countries still don't like Jews for whatever reason.

I say the solution is for Israel to say that this "disputed territory" is no longer in dispute. It now is ours and we will set up a border. Those who wish to remain in our country can apply for citizenship. Those who don't accept this will be exiled to the place of your choosing. Those who attempt to use violence to resist will be dealt with using extreme prejudice. This would solve the problem in the country and force the neighboring countries to lay their cards on the table and quit playing games.

If they want to REALLY fight a war with Israel, instead of guerilla tactics, I am sure Israel would be happy to oblige them.

I agree with you Col. Bukk.

How the hell can you claim to have "Homeland Security" when your borders aren't even protected in the slightest?

The american people when polled about the issue are overwhelmingly in favor of getting control of the borders with whatever means necessary. But Washington won't listen.

If somebody wants to protest something, THIS issue should be it!

Yeah, thanks for posting that Rule fo W. I was going to reply to the person who said I had no understanding, and compared me to that idiot, but it's not worth it, and I could care less what he thinks.

Besides that what I said was right. We didn't take land from teh Palestinians and give it to the jews. There had been a Zionist movement since the 1900's. Lord Balfours' declaration that the Jews ought to have their own homeland was heeded after WWII when sympathy for the Jews was strong in the UN. Even though the US was the major determinant in the creation of the state of Isreal in UN, they did not take land from the Palestinians. The US never had the land, which this guy berating me seems to think I said. The US had alot to do with the taking, but so did Britain, and the rest of the UN nations, hell Germany is even at fault.

I don't know how many of you have gone across the border into Canada or the US several times, but I have and I've seen lots of inconsistencies in the amount of protection shown.

The worst I've seen though are the border crossings on the very west coast of the country. I've gone across the border there several times without ever actually stopping. Even the one time there was someone on duty, they were 40 feet away, took one look at me and simply waived me through.

I'm all for ease of access when moving between our two countries, but that was ridiculous.

Bingham, I want the border tighter than a nun's twat. I think we deserve nothing less. Matter of fact I would like to see no-one be able to get across ever. Mexico same thing.

I understand trade has to be made, so triple check everything that comes over. This may sound over the top, but it would make me very happy, since I have never visited Canada and wouldnt really care if such a blockade took place.

I say buil;d a big friggin wall, something like the Great Wall of China.

By the way, enjoyed the Boo's the National Anthem recieved at the Islanders-Canadians game. Very nice, bet it made Saddam feel good :D :D

Hey what do you expect from a country that has been under control of liberals for too many years. Send some republicans(right-wingers) up here ASAP.

PLO must go next

-HaVoC-,
The land was originally split into two sections by the British. Both the State of Israel and Palestine. Arab states refused to recognize Israel and attacked. Israel won, therfore no Palestine. Oh by the way I believe that Israel was a jewish state, belonged to jews, long before the palestinians came along (traveling gypsies).

No other country that I am aware, to further peace or anything else, has given up territory/ land gained in battle. They have. Twice.

This was the plan by the UN, till war changed the rules:

"After looking at various alternatives, the UN proposed the partitioning of Palestine into two independent States, one Palestinian Arab and the other Jewish, with Jerusalem internationalized (Resolution 181 (II) of 1947). One of the two States envisaged in the partition plan proclaimed its independence as Israel and in the 1948 war expanded to occupy 77 per cent of the territory of Palestine. Israel also occupied the larger part of Jerusalem. Over half the indigenous Palestinian population fled or were expelled. Jordan and Egypt occupied the other parts of the territory assigned by the partition resolution to the Palestinian Arab State which did not come into being.

In the 1967 war, Israel occupied the remaining territory of Palestine"

Could never triple check everything

Postby PudriK » Sun Mar 23, 2003 12:49 am

Closing our borders is functionally impossible. Millions of containers, by truck, boat, and plane, make their way into our country every day, hell every hour. To attempt to check every one would mean a huge growth in the federal government, delays in trade, and even then, you could still slip in. Hell, give me a sport fisher and a couple weeks and I could get anything into the states. Just go out, do some "charter fishing" pull into Mexico for "drinks", do some more "charter fishing" and come back in. And I'm sure there are guys who know how to do it better, and do do it every day.

Sure, we could erect a wall all around the US and post guards every 20 feet. Good luck trying to make the US self-sufficient.

We Americans have a tendency to want simple solutions to complex problems. This is one of those problems which is not so easily solved.

I guaran-goddamn-tee you if we wanted to do it, it could be done somehow...

We can put people on the moon, stuff on mars, explore the depths of the ocean, split the atom, make trains levitate and you're telling me we can't keep people from crossing a piece of land when we want them to?!?

BULLSHIT!!!

You don't need a wall, just good surveillance. UAVs in concert with the National Guard/Army will do the job. When you spot some border jumpers you go nab who you can and shoot the ones who run. Enough of this and people will realize that we are serious. Then the bullshit stops....

People talk about it like its the same as making a perpetual motion machine....
