Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Edogg, when the hell is STALKER coming out? I can never find a release date.

The earliest it would be out is June. There are some September rumors, but I think they have said they are now aiming for an early summer release. GSC hasnt made the mistake of giving an actual specific release date which is smart. Thats something I bet Valve wishes they had done with Half-life 2.

Did anyone else find the Zero wreckage on the island???

Found the zero, yup....Graphics were all fubar'd though, I'm gonna try the new 4.1's later and see if it fixes 'em. No AA was working, massive jaggies on EVERYTHING, even though it's set in game for highest (as well as outside game via CP), and shaders were being buggy, especially on the rocks, they would be a solid gray/white/black color at distance, then slowly shade in correctly as I neared 'em.

That said, the water is the best I've seen to date, the way it laps up onto the shore is very nice, also cool swimming underwater....Like the foliage to, very dense, disorientating (much like a jungle should be).

The 4.1's are supposed to have artifacts. From what I have read, the 3.9's are the ones to use.

So Cat 4.1's are a little buggy then with this game? Cause I cranked everything on the highest setting and backed off a little when I got them. Figured I also had the card OC a little to much.

From what I ahve read, the 3.9's are the best to use. I also have read that this problem does NOT exist on the MP BETA.

Jaxstraww, if you want to check your o/c on the card, run this little program: http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/index.html

GREAT at detecting artifacts LONG before any game would show 'em....

I'm running the 4.1's and had no problems with anything.

Just finished the demo. Gay ass demo that is. I blow up the tower and thats it. Not saying that I can expect much from a demo. But a 500 meg demo should give you more than one level. Downloading the item now Bull.

Gay ass demo?

I found it very good. Those 500 megs comprise all of the detail in that game. This isn't a Bf42 map.

I am lookign forward to this game, it has excellent potential. Beta testers have said the MP part is good, too.

I gotta say, jungle fighting on that map would be intense.

Maybe I was a little rough on it. I'm sure the detail speaks for itself.
Bullhead. Got the DL but not sure what info I get from it?

One word:

Wow.

Very impressive. I loved it. I ran it at 1600x1200 everything cranked up as high as it would go. Looked amazing. I almost got lost in some of the jungle parts it was so immersive.

I didnt find the zero though?

You gotta explore the island.

Also, check out the jeep/buggy thingy, hard to drive through the jungle though.. Seems that this game is trying to get some vehicles up and running on the ground and water...hopefully we'll be able to use helos and planes.

After playing this, BF maps seemed so bare!!

Jaxstraww, When you run it, it's really just a fancy screen saver/demo. But, it uses very advanced DX9 stuff, and will really push your card to it's limit. If you run it for a little while, and see no artifacts, then your're probably fine. That's really all it's good for, but it's very good at it!

Update on the demo....I went back to play it later on yesterday, and it was about 3/4 of the way through loading my saved game, when it got stuck (progress bar was right under the "n" in loading). I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del, and far cry minimized out to the desktop, with task mgr. there. I closed it, and underneath was a memory access error. Tried playing with a few in-game and out of game vid settings, no luck. Tried stating a new game, no luck again. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried a new game. This time, the progress bar went all the way, but right as it should've loaded it dropped video (monitor went into a standby state). Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del a few times, Alt-Tab, etc, and finally the video kicked back on (after hearing a windows error "ding"), only to come up with some massive graphics corruption. Hit reset button, and pc was fine again. Uninstalled and deleted buggy ass game........
