If you can stretch your tastes to classical, you might like jazz.

Check out Miles Davis: Kind of Blue. One of the greatest jazz albums ever released. It features such jazz legends as Coltrane, Evens and Adderley.

The name alone merits praise.

At any rate thank you Jeffro for giving me something to listen to you inspired me to find a classical station and listen to it once again. As my computer is fubar right now it's a welcome change of pace.

"Who's we sucka!?"
"Smith and Wesson and me."

/me agrees with Jimmy.

If you like classical, you probably would like jazz a lot too. All the artists Jimmy named are great (esp. Coltrane and Davis, my personal fav's)

If you like Orff's Carmina Burana, then you also might like any opera by Wagner (I think one BF mod - maybe EOD - uses some music from Ride of the Valkyries in it), or maybe Holst's The Planets, Verdi's Requiem, or Mozart's Requiem.

Speaking of Wagner and EOD - check this out.

Jeffro, try some movie soundtracks too. Try John Williams (better known works = star wars) and James Horner (Glory).

But plain orchestra? *gag* One mans trash, another mans treasure. I generally don't like to bash others musical tastes because you have no idea how many ignorant comments I hear about "techno".

Orchestra trash? Try "Russian Easter Overture" by Rimsky-Korsakov. It's tough to hate this one. About 12 minutes or so.

Ignorant comment about Techno #1: "Anyone can play a QWERTY keyboard"

Ignorant comment about Techno#2: "Extension cords are not sold in bulk"

Good luck with that I hope it goes well. Trombone looks (and sounds) like fun instrument. Make sure you post your recording. I'de join you on the piano but I'll have trouble keeping up with "Allegro Vivace".

Sheherezade and Russian Easter Overture are my favorite RC pieces.

If you're speaking of trombone, yes it will, you can't play a trombone full of water, and a piano will get warped. ;)

My taste swings from rock/pop, to country to new age, with jazz throw in for good measure.
