Thanks, that's a great site. That shit will always choke me up.

I don't know about some of you, but I've had Old Glory flying in front of my house since that terrible day. I was really choked up (ok, worse) and all I could do was hang that flag. Nobody on TV had to fucking tell me to do so.

This may piss some people off, but in case anyone is still wondering about our "friends", maybe this is something to keep in mind:

The sad part Doug is that the germans probably didn't have to put the flag up themselves. Some Frenchman probably had it up and ready to greet them.

If they keep making a mockery of the UN and NATO, they could soon be willingly flying another flag:

Fri Feb 14, 2003 10:20 pm

Doug the UN and Nato is a mockery, tell em all to pack their bags and get out........UN is a waste of friggin time. Dont know why we're dealin with 2nd rate nation like France anyway. They have no military to speak of, only 1 aircraft carrier (which is most of the time out of operation). So what can they possibly bring to the table. France shirked its responsibilties in the 1930's, to its eventual grief and shame. Today, though, France seems beyond shame.

Fri Feb 14, 2003 11:09 pm

OK, I should have said "making more of a mockery.":P
As if that's possible. We already know the UN is dead.

As for NATO, we saw that ruined a few short years ago. Funny how a couple of "friends" there were more than happy to go along with a wag-the-dog in their own back yard against someone far less of a threat than what we face now.

...so pathetic

u obviously do not remember the discussion we had on france in the 30's 2 wks ago...if u want another history lesson, im glad to oblige

France is interested in their own well being, it serves them best to try to create some sort of balance of power. They got in bed with nato, then jumped off the security council, but remained a member because of the treat posed by the soviet union. They are a weak pathetic little country, that has no real power (except for wine and pussy). They feel it is in their best interest to create any check or balance on the US, because we are the big dogs and that scares the crap out of the French. They will jump on the band wagon if we (US) do go to war, simply to be on the winning side.

Perhaps it is time for the US to disolve their membership in the UN and NATO. The Soviets pose no real threat and we can form our own treaties with countries. If anyone has any idea as far as the amount of funding that the United States provides to each of the organizations and what other members contribute as well, PLEASE POST.

I know my history, matter of fact it was you who stated that France appeased the Germans in the 1st place......and let me guess if France would have shown some balls and put their foot down( lets not forget, at the time France had the best trained and largest army in the world) WWII mite never have happened.....And if thats the case millions of people would not have had to die. So shove your history lesson up your ass.

IIRC Ayatollah was in France before he came back to Iran. I don't see why we can't ship another fool(Saddam) back to them.;)
