US MILITARY ACTION IN IRAQ Y or N?

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Should US and Allies disarm Iraq with military force?

On the subject of Kosovo.

The 2000 bodies found number appears to be roughly accurate, but to present it as the whole picture is disingenuous. Witness accounts support a much higher number, and explain that the Serbs exhumed many of the bodies before NATO occupation forces arrived. Also, I believe that the alleged NATO exaggerations have themselves been exaggerated.

Forgive me el cid. I did a google search for "Random House dictionary" online. I used the third or fourth entry that came up since it worked. Since it pretty much matched the dictionary I have in book form, it was easier to copy and paste from the web. The dictionary I have at home is a '91 edition.

Maybe that's not what the definitions are in Anton's collectors edition KGB dictionary (1982 edition) but they are good enough for me.

Gone for a week and it seems as though, after much reading, our friendly neighbor still has some crazy notion that we claim to be perfect. Our government does what it feels is necessary to safeguard the citizens of this country. War, declared, undeclared or covert, is war and people do get injured and killed. Don't like it, surrender! As far as south america is concerned, I am a cigar smoker and am damn happy that the dominican republic and nicaragua have stable governments, the smokes they produce are in some cases better than havavas!!!!

Your middle class status was in no small part safeguarded by your southern neighbor. I am glad that you have the ability to voice your opinion without having your fingers or toung cut off or worse. Bet your glad you live in Canada and are not a citizen of iraq, and don't even try saying your not real lucky. I do not see many posts from that country.

We will search out and destroy any country, group, or individual that threatens our way of life. I will vote, because I have that right and you can whine all you want, because that is your right. Shame those folks in iraq can't do the same. If their army meets ours, those same folks will enjoy the same rights we both do. Where they go from there is a choice for the people to make.

Yeah funny indeed. But you know, I think the people of Iraq cant laugh with the thought of treatening to loose everything they own. I know Saddam is a problem, and something has to be done about his weaponry, but if America attacks, the people gonna be the victimes. So I say: Give the weapon inspectors a bit more time.

Oh and I have another interesting question: Did you ever wonder WHY should Iraq attack the USA?

The only way I can answer that in short form is to say that with Hussein in power, the Iraqis already have nothing. Unless people enjoy fear, torture, lack of freedom, etc.

Now you care about the Iraqi's? Where was this caring before the war? What good has Europes care for the rest of the world ever done? Kosovo and Rawanda, these people died from genocide by corrupt regimes, where was Europes caring then? If any country could fight a war against a corrupt regime and do it by minimizing civilian casualties it is US!

Floppy..the answer to why Iraq should attack America is simple..it shouldn't. However, due to political and social views and not to mention religous implications and affects, America, indeed, the entire 'Western World' is the target of choice for most Middle Eastern leaders. The Western World is mired in sin and heathenism according to many Middle Eastern religous leaders, with America itself being the Great Satan. True, these tend to be the more radical and non-mainstream 'fringe' or 'cults' of Islam, but they wield incredible amounts of power none the less.

Keep in mind, most of the Middle East is still in what is considered the 'Middle Ages' when it comes to matters of social, religous and political reform, so there's going to be a long period, STLL, of this unrest, violence and death.
The enemy is attacking, let us prey.

That may all be true Kristov, but the fact is that see the War on Terrorism in religous terms is always going to have exceptional cases where your perspective does't help the situation becuase it is wrong. For instance, Muslims who immigrate to the US are among the least likely to go on welfare, they are by and large industrious Americans who go about their lives. I would rather say that fundamentalist Muslims, like the Guerillas in the Phillipines, the Taleban, and Most of Irans government are the real problem.

I think your right about the Islamic religion though being in the 9th century. Reformers of Islam have the fear of Allah and man put into them by the bigoted Mullahs and Ayatollahs who issue these Fatwas. THeir religious clerics are going to be the downfall of them.
