You probably saw that news on CNN or a huge number of other leftist American media outlets. World media hates America, and American media (except for Fox News) hates America.
Also funny how only American media is deceptive and/or powerful.

It's been said a hundred times or more already (but rarely by the media): Iraqi oil would have been much cheaper (than war) had the sanctions just been lifted. But some European countries, such as Germany and France, would have lost money on CONTRACTS they had with Iraq. That's simple enough even for this 'duped' American.

FLOPPY, you're either very young (and therefore excusable) or incredibly stupid (inexcusable).

What flawed school system kicked you out their doors?

Well that is the point I was trying to make: ALL media can be desceptive. I never said tne news I watch is the "right one".

Yes you're right about the European countries having contracts with Iraq. I also disaprove their behavior/motives. But you do admit the USA attacked Iraq for the oil?

My school system teached me NOT to insult people who are trying to have a descent discussion. My school system teached me to speak YOUR language. I do my best to explain myself in the best possible way, but if you have comments on that we can always proceed in MY language.

Since I'm not very young, you just said I am incredibly stupid. S.S. Lord ZOG, You owe me an apology for those insults. Those insults do not belong on this forum and I believe that also ECGN policy.

Being stupid is no way to go through life.

I'm sorry you're stupid.

Then I guess that's your problem, not mine. Expect a message from "authority" soon.

Zog I agree with Floppy on this one. There is no need for you to jump to name calling because someone disagrees. We don't know, Floppy's personal take on this matter might be correct. We are all arguing based on very little data.

A lack of intelligence results in the necessity of name calling. Maybe you need to look in the mirror in regards to a lack of respect.

Flop.. not all of us US folks act this way.

You have a point in that. But now I am wondering...Is Bush not doing the same thing as Chirac ( think of Afghanistan and Iraq)? It almost 'seems' America wants to control those countries. Well, maybe it is not true about Afghanistan, but the 'peace' in Iraq is not so really peacefull as we ( or America) hoped it will be. I can imagine why some Iraqie-people are angry about the arrive of the Americans. How would you guys feel if another country takes over Washington? (if you think of Juli 4th 1776 you know how it feels). Because of that there are fights, deaths, and still a Saddam who MAYBE can shoot back. ( with chemical weapons??). If that so, I think I have no problem with the war against Iraq.

The difference is that we are not trying to dictate French foreign policy. Chirac is trying to use the "International Voice" to have some input on world matters. The french are not risking losing anything (other than maybe some UN violating business with Iraq).

France is no longer a world power. The should not be a permanent member on the security council anymore... their time is done. I feel that Chirac knows this and is trying deperately to cling on to the mantel of importance. He is using any method possible in an effort to be considered a peer with the truly powerful people on the planet. He is like the barking poodle in the middle of Dobermans.

Would that be a standard poodle or a miniature poodle? Standard poodles can be quite fierce...:D

Only Berkamp=Bergkamp :P

Sorry I didn't go back and check my spelling.

I am a soccer (european football) nut. I have been coaching for years. The number one station that I turn to is Fox Sports World to watch the English, German, Argentinian (Spelling?), and Dutch leagues. They did not cover the Serie A this year so I didn't get to wacth Milan and Juventes play .. DAMMIT! I have heard thay they are going to show the Spanish league next year.. thank god.. I must have my Beckham.

I got up at 4:30 and watched every telecast game of the Japan WC.

We should start a soccer thread. I love to talk the game with those that know it... something severly lacking in the US.

In the mis 90's I became a Dutch fan. Sorry if I get some names spelled wrong...

Van der Saar (man did he fall apart in the Italian leagues)
Staam (loved his Man U years),
The twins (forgot their names midfielder and defender werent' they?)
Davids (Watched him on Juventes for several seasons)
The other Black mid with big hair (forget name again?)
and the aforementioned strikers.

I enjoyed watching your boy Van Nistleroy (spelling) kick some butt for Man U this last year.

I love the game. Only Americans play it so selfishly. We have sevral great team players, McBride showed his stuff in the EPL. (So did our two goalies.) But we get caught up in so much "Small Ball" that we don't create opportunites and we don't seize every scoring chance. Demarcus Beasley doesn't even know that there are 9 other field players wearing his jersey... what a waste of great ball skills.

ok ok ok enough
