Massive Power outages in eastern Canada and US

Postby shockwave203 » Thu Aug 14, 2003 3:58 pm

wow just saw this on the news

apparently, the cities of Toronto, Detroit, Ottawa, and New York are without power because of a fire in a power plant in manhattan. it destablalized the power grid and knocked out all the power

I know that Agent and Tommyboy live in Toronto. No BF for them for atleast a few hours!

I'm sure Fox News will turn this into "Power Crisis - 2003!!".

- "Let's ask an expert"

- "So professor, would you say the power outage is a sign we should crack open eachother's skulls and feast on the goo inside?"

- "..... yes, yes I would Bob."

The probelm is in Viagra Falls power plant. The small "fires" are normal for substations because it is just smoke from the boilers.

I hope the power comes back soon, the server will be empty!!!

Well I just got power back here in Toronto at 10:45pm after it went out at 4pm this afternoon. It was chaos in the downtown core.

And, it 's actually a power station in the Syracuse, New York area that failed, not Canada's fault.

Apparently it caught fire by getting struck by lightning, or so CNN said.

Man it was a sight to see pitch darkness in my area of the suburbs. People were having fun, lighting torches on their front lawn, some even bonfire and using their gas BBQ. My house had gas stoves so we were able to cook, it was getting hot in the house though since AC was off. :(

I'm so glad nothing happened to my computer, I was playing C&C Generals and having a huge battle with like 50+ units at the time of the outtage, I thought, shiet did something go wrong with my video card again cuz of all the massive stuff on the screen? Looked at my electronic clock and it too was off...

The one positive thing to come out of this is I got to talk to my next door neighbour more than I often do. Hehe ;)

It's a girl.

I heard the blackout was caused by "we need to make more babys...north east chapter"

Now if thats false then lets invade Canada...3 guys and a humvee should do it...and lets save those poor buggers from themselves :)
