Changing musical tastes...

Postby Jeffro » Wed Feb 25, 2004 8:50 pm

Call me an idiot...call me a smacker...call me whatever, but I am starting to listen to classical/opera music! :)

It is very different compared to contemporary rock/alternative/rap...

Nothing wrong with classical music. It makes people a little more cultured and diverse, not to mention it can be relaxing. Its not my cup of tea, but Im still able to listen to it. I would rather listen to classical music than straight up pop music.

I like a variety of music. Whether it's headbobbing to a rap song, cranking up the stereo to some linkin park, listening to country or enjoying music from startrek movies (yes i said it, startrek movies-people who know me would never suspect), I have enjoyed it all.

I listen to rap, country, rock, alternative rock, and the odd classical song here and there, but mostly rock. Linkin Park and Audioslave own

Not my cup of tea either, but I listen to a lot of music that has classical influences in it. One of my favorite electronic groups "Hybrid" uses orcehstral strings a lot. It's really cool.

But plain orchestra? *gag* One mans trash, another mans treasure. I generally don't like to bash others musical tastes because you have no idea how many ignorant comments I hear about "techno".

I am not saying I listen to it 24/7...what i am saying is that I am discovering more realms of music, which is a nice change of pace from the norm...

Whether the style be, Techno, Euro-Pop, Industrial, Classic Rock, Alternative, Latin, Jazz, Afro-Cuban, (Kenny G  Jokin! ), Indian Techno, etc...

Most of it is pretty good music :)

Classical is good, I've taken the music from some games I play and burnt them to a CD that I listen to at night

Jeremy Soule is a great composer, he did all of the songs for the game Neverwinter Nights if anyone's played.

Kurith and Xenius, Have you ever played on the Richterm's Retreat Nordock servers. Theyre very well done and a lot of fun as soon as you make a couple of acquaintances.Playin alone is cool but its a hell of alot better in a group. Kristov used to play there quite regularly and I still play there occasionally.

I listen to a bit of everything.

If I had to choose one style, I would go with swing.

Well, Jeffro, I listen to (what some people don't even consider music) metal, as well as copious amounts of classical, punk and rockabilly. Go figure.

Yes classical is the shit. I used to listen to it on the radio when I had nothing to do or just relax. I always imagine some crazy battle while listening to it don't know why but it seems almost violent at times. I could be just disturbed tho. :freak:

Worst music (I use that term loosely) ever is that crazy stuff where the guy sounds like a demon and he just shouts unintelligable stuff all day

Musashi, sounds like you'd like "Carl Orff's Carmina Burana".
"Well, we're not just gonna let you walk out of here."
"Who's we sucka!?"
"Smith and Wesson and me."
