I didn't love the demo...but the graphics were good. The controls were odd for me...

"Gold" means the shipping version of the code is finalized and it has been RTM (Released To Manuracturing).

Yeah, as I understand it, it's:

alpha
beta
gold

it reaches platinum once it has sold a set number of copies. I don't know the exact number, at least not for games. For records it's 1 million I think.

Like RC said. That game is ready to get printed and shipped. That's a thumbs up on get ready. HL2 will never get to gold status. HL2 doesn't even exist. Was a cruel, cruel joke.

Yeah it will become what 's known as vaporware.

Like Duke Nukem Forever, and Counter-Strike: Condition Zero.

The original HL was pushed back years too. Just not as many. And yes it will come out, just not any time soon.

I already played this demo and I really do not like it. It was kinda unrealistic, so I will not buy it for sure since I save green thing for UT 2k4 and BF:V ofc.

I played both demos and loved both of them. Combat is fun, if challenging, the graphics are gorgeous, and the level design is sweet. My only real complaint is with the voice acting, which sucks some major wang.

The graphics are above average and could possibly be used for a Vietnam-themed game. As for the gameplay, it's mediocre. Nothing new. It looks nice but it's just the same old stuff you get with average run of the mill shooters. The plot also seems silly too, like a big budget action flick.

A lot of companies (mine included) also have a "Release Candidate" stage between beta and gold. This stage is where you only give it out to your best testers and say "OK, we think this is the Gold code - test it for any showstopping bugs.
