teamspeak, headphones and mics

Just curious what you all use for teamspeak? I really only need a mic, but I might get a headset or a new set of headphones. Any recommendations or info is appreciated.

I used to use a pair of Sony Headphones, real nice (MDR-V300), which only cost `$50 at Best Buy when I got 'em. Currently I'm just enjoying my very expensive :D speakers, and using the Silencer utility to mute them when I talk, which works great. The mic I use is a fairly cheap desk mic, works great, Labtech Verse 514.

I use a plantronics headset/mic that I bought at Staples for $ 25.00. They work great and the sound detail is very good too.

I use a Altec Lansing AHS 502 headset/mic. $39.95 at Best Buy.

Logitech headphones with built in mic and inline volume control, works great for 34.99.

This reminds me anyone know how to set up a non-usb headset in windows me. I dont have one of the tabs in the speech thing in my control panel like it says your supposed to have, nor do i have word which it says u can also use.

ugghhh. Windows ME, the worst operating system MS ever released. Do yourself a favor, upgrade to 2000/XP, or go back to 98SE. MS was so embarrassed by it, they dropped support for ME at least a year before they dropped it for 98se........

Ps., do you mean a headset, like headphones? those go in speaker jack :P

my bad i meant xp my old comp was me sorry.

Tue Apr 06, 2004 1:44 am

and i know wat u mean it has two jack pointer giver outer thingies one for mic and one for speakers i only really want to use mic though and i wont detect it

Tue Apr 06, 2004 1:48 am

I would think it should detect it. If you mean that windows will give you a little pop-up message, or something, telling you about new hardware when you plug it in, then no. Mic just is or isn't plugged in, windows will always see the port (I believe). Sounds like a sound config/driver issues. May want to try updating/reinstalling drivers, may fix the issue. Kinda hard to say for sure.....

ill try the driver thing thanks man

I picked up a Labtech 534 yesterday. How good is the response with your mic? I've got the mic level maxed out in the volume control, but it still seems too quiet...
