I'm pretty sure I heard from several CS geek friends of mine that PC Cillin is garbage.

The Symanrtec scanner says this:

Virus Status: Safe!
Your computer is free of known viruses and Trojan horses.

19073 files scanned, 0 file(s) infected on your disk drives.

No viruses were detected in memory.

Lol hahahahahahahahaha.... I tell ya, just dont engage in filesharing and you save yourself a boatload of trouble...

Like I said, if you're sure you don't have any viruses, that's the least of your worries.

A good firewall doesn't use much resources and can actually increase performance.

Does that thing scan for worms? I don't know how you can not be affected by anything. Granted I've never infected myself with a virus, but unless you're pretty on top of windows updating (I am) you'll catch something.

crap, crap, and more crap. I've seen AVG repeatedly throw up false virus alerts to people, and pc cillin is just garbage in every sense of the word. this is all purely IMO and IME.

I've never had perf. issues with Norton, and never have needed to disable it in order to play a game....

The Norton Scanner does, yes. And if you have the installed version, it has heuristics scanning, which can detect new worms without even having a signature file.

No one writes viruses for Macs because it's counter-productive. There simply aren't enough Macs out there to propagate Mac viruses. There's no return in it for those sh1t#eads that write the viruses.
