My TeamFHA experience...

Postby Rule of Wrist » Thu May 06, 2004 3:17 pm

Last night, as a change of pace, I decided to visit the TeamFHA server. What transpired is explained at length, here in this thread: http://www.teamfha.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2210&sid=b6ff789b22bc2656e40f2d8bb93688b9

Now, my purpose in posting this is not to flame FHA. In our dealings with them, I have been impressed with several of their members, particularly John Clark, who has always conducted himself with honor, and represented his community very well.

But, I'm sorry to say, this experience has ruined my opinion of their server, their community, and anyone complicit with the continued admin status of this Aragorn/Elusive person. If I was in John Clark's shoes, I would disassociate myself from this person completely.

I would advise anyone who is thinking about visiting their server to NOT go there. There is no consistent application of any rules, and some rules are made up on the spot and then discarded on the spot. They freely admit this.

I refuse to play under those conditions. I also want nothing to do with anyone party to such actions, since by allowing such things to take place, they are just as bad as the one who took action to begin with.

Most people here know me as a reasonable guy, and a good player. For me to come out with something like this shows how strongly I feel about this situation.

Also, I ask everyone from this community to PLEASE not go to their forums and cause problems. We don't need to do that. What's done is done.

I wanted to give them a chance, I really did, but this is the third strike of JUST OUR PEOPLE.

In my opinion, they're out.

That's pretty sad that you got banned for that. Whenever i see you play on my team or against me on the ECGN server, your always taking out tanks and shooting down planes, and it doesn't make sense why you would do anything different on another server, and especially be banned because of it.

I completely agree with Rule on this. I'm astounded and appalled at the completely arbitrary, capricious, and high-handed nature of their "rules," along with their very shabby treatment of Rule of Wrist. While I'm perfectly aware that it's their own server, and they're entitled to do what they like, such actions leave me with an extremely negative opinion.

I understand that they are proposing monthly scrimmages with ECGN. Needless to say, I have no interest in such an arrangement.

Geez, what an ass, looks like he got pwned by Rule and have nothing else to do but ban him, what a moron...

I can safely say that Rule, ur one hell of a player, fair and just. That Aragorn guy needs to seriously grow up...

He complains that you shot him down in a bomber while ur a fighter..uhh, wat da hell else are you suppose to do....

I too agree that I now have no interest in playing with them anymore...

God forbid you play the game to have fun and not to satisfy this guy's desires.

Sadness. I wondered if the scrims were gonna be hosed due to last night. Here is my answer.

I have no comeback. I will miss our scrims. I will come and play on your server from time to time.

Thanks guys,

Eric

P.S. Thanks for the kind words, RoW, and thanks for all the previous effort on the parts of Residue and Fat Bastard.

Eric, I can understand your viewpoint. I just hate to see my friends treated so poorly, and for no good reason. My disappointment is more directed toward the seeming uneven application of kicks and bans, rather than with any one person.

For my part, I would be happy to have you drop by here anytime to play. :)

As someone that has seen both sides of the story (for the sake of both comunities I am not rehashing that one), I would offer the following:

If you don't agree with the way the rules are administered on the FHA server, don't visit anymore. I think we have seen that there are differences between how each server admins. Those choices are not ones that we, as players, can really impact. We can however choose not to play there. Both servers have a healthy following so individually if we chose to not play we likely won't be missed.

However for those of you that do like the competition of an organized scrim occassionally, consider that there really aren't many communities out there that are large enough to field a team 20+ talented players.

I for one enjoy those matches. Regardless of my feelings on past events, and I have a few, I will still consider playing in a scrim. Under those conditions, neither communites rules apply so there is nothing to interfere with the game except our skillz.

Based on Rules experience, and on my own it is unlikely that I will play on the FHA server again (Sorry JC), but as for an organized scrim where I know the game play will be high and the smacktards non-existant, I would still consider FHA a community to scrim with.

I am sure some of you don't agree with me, but as someone that has been on both sides of this, I figured I would throw in my .02 in.

Dude... Its like this everywhere... ECGN is the only place I have seen that is heavily admined that doesnt have this going on....

The only choices for me are clan servers with relatively inactive admins (i.e. kicking tkers and thats it) or ECGN...

GO anywhere, FHA (have no personal experience there) AGB (cry babies), a lot of (shitty) clan servers and its all crap made up rules...

There are 2 servers worthy: Sixgun Dojo and ECGN #1
