but for a bit of interesting knowledge, i herd this today from a family friend.........one of the astronauts in the columbia, was a jewish man who flew a commando op. with one other jet fighter that annnihlated the only iraqi nuclear power plant in the mid 80s/90's <---noit sure

Seigfreid, he was a pilot for the Israeli military, and he was part of an operation that bombed a nuclear plant in Iraq, one of 5 or 6 jets, and he was the youngest of the squad. It's been all over the Israeli media for months, as he was considered a national hero for the shuttle mission, since he was the first Israeli and jew to go to space.

About the U.N., I don't believe in it at all, We should get out of it, after all we are funding a huge majority of it.

The reason I'm not for it is that I don't elect those people into office, I elect people to make hard decisions for what is best for this Country (U.S.A.), so I do not believe we should have to get approval from other countries to do anything. (this goes for all other countries in the U.N. also) each country has their right to do what they think is necessary for thier own interest.

I do believe we need somewhere for countries to talk about certain things and discuss possible conflicts and problems, it needs to be some sort of forum for discussion, not for voting or anything and veto rights. Every country should do what is in their own interest not someone elses.



Here is a question for the anti war protesters...Why are you so quick to protest something in the name of saving INNOCENT lives, when every day and over the last 15 years or so thousands if not hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT Iraqi lives have been lost do to their own leaders hands, yet no one holds protest against saddam hussein(sp?)?

Typical French thinking...lets ignore him and maybe he will go away, because if we do something we might have to deal with other problems.

If France wants to be considered a big boy on the block, you will have to start acting like a big boy on the block. You will have to make big decisions in life, some that are not popular, you cannot let problems get bigger and bigger and bigger because you dont want to take care of them now, it is better to take care of a problem when it is smaller than when it gets bigger. I would much rather take care of a bunch of little bin ladens that that of another BIG bin laden.

Enough ranting from me, I'm not good at putting my thoughts to writing so I hope I did not butcher this post too much.

Thats true, or Argentina. As far as who they would put in charge in Iraq, I think they would leave that up to the UN..........if there is still an UN...........

There isn't a specific part of the Constitution that addresses the U.N., and I am not aware of any part of the Constitution that would prevent the United States from participating in it. In fact, Art. VI, cl. 2 provides that "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

The part about treaties obviously contemplates cooperation and agreements with other countries.

Now having said that, I'll be damned if I would ever let people in France, much less Ivory Coast or some other third-world backwater, have much of a say in the affairs of the United States. This would include our conduct of foreign affairs. We can consult, but to allow these countries a veto would be absurd.
