Yeh, Base and Assault are two different maps. Base is where allies need to dyno two Axis communications bunkers. It's a fun map, but not good for more than 20 or so players -- too many tight corridors and choke points.

Assault is good, but it's definitely axis-friendly (any map with setting dyno as an objective is going to favor the team that has that objective) and is an airstrike and sniper spooge-fest. The initial sprint from the spawn points is fun, though. Controlling the no-man's land between the two walls is key.

... all that being said, when did this rotation happen? It was back to Beach during my normal time on ECGN (late evening) I haven't played Assault in ages.

That's the map I was thinking of.

Base is good to but you're right, not for big crowds.

The no man's land on assault IS key.
Coming in or going out can be an excelent blood bath.

It's a very well designed map with need for patient dyno planting like beach but by axis.

Yesterday between 7-9 pm we were at Assault. An hour before that we were on Ice.

Ya the 1 game I played you and me had I dont know how many revives in the 1st minute or 2 but I ran out of needles in less than 2 minutes. I never even shot 1 round for the 1st 3 or 4 mins.

Running on that ledge and dropping down was fun as hell too, I think Assault is so good cuz like the beach you have open spaces and closer quarters...

Next time I'll have to spec for a minute or 2 just to see exactly where I'm supposed to go.. or heck I'll just create my own LAN game by myself and navigate around.. but I'm telling you , that open airfield was so much f'in fun I never left it.

I have played over 50 different maps so I dunno which one I would say is my favorite. Some of the custom maps I have played were pretty good. But those trickjump maps are really a challenge.

I don't mind Assault because I can usually sneak around without being noticed in that map. And I found a way to get on top of the plane by the Allied spawn. Not many people know how to get on it but it is easy to figure out. It is a good place to set up with a venom and blow away all the Allies walking out of the spawn.

Yah Weasel that first round was great. I can't wait till the next time we get to play at Assualt. I had like 40 revives that first round, and it was'nt even a full 25 minute round. Also the long range shooting was really cool. Instead of people blocking doors we had people opening and closeing those giant doors  I could'nt tell if it was my own team or the other team. Good times ... Good times
