"ID Software’s other titles include the first-person shooters 'Doom' and “Quake.” Another “Wolfenstein” game is in development."

hmm.. i thought they had abandoned that project.. maybe there is some hope after all..

Cancelled as a PC game, I think. I believe RTCW2 is still planned as an XBox 360 game, unless I'm behind the latest game news.

And seeing as this is the only game I play, and I don't own a console, that may very well be the case. :D

rtcw2 is being developed by raven last i heard! the guys who made quake 4! also if they are gonna make a game for xbox 360 they will make it for pc aswell! especilly a franchise like wolfenstein where its market is largely pc players!

porting a game from pc to xbox 360 or xbox 360 to pc is a fairly simple process! so why wouldn't they make it for pc!

the likelyhood is that rtcw2 will not be out until quater 3-4 next year at the earliest! but i expect it will not be out until 2009 as this will give "enemy territory: quake wars" some time to grab a share of the market before they release rtcw2!

some reading:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Castle_Wolfenstein#Return_to_Castle_Wolfenstein_2

http://www.ravensoft.com/
^keep an eye on their site for news!

the wikipedia article states that it will use "Doom 3 technology" which is now known as "id Tech 4" since it was used on quake 4 and the soon to be released "ET: Quake Wars"

but it may use the next revision of the engine that is being developed! namely: "id Tech 5"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id_Tech_4
info on the engine!

long live wolfenstein!!!

yes it is a shame there have been no updates for almost 2 years! with the information i provided above i was just trying to give us all some hope that we will be getting another wolfenstein and that it will be available on pc!

id's own site infact states that "id Tech 4" will be used in "the next Wolfenstein title". source: http://www.idsoftware.com/business/idtech4/

remains to be seen when the game will come out, i stick by my estimates though! ;)

thanks twitch! ;) more good news on the rtcw2 front! threewave seem to have been very console focused from the looks of their older titles! but they have worked on games that i loved and still do! not to mention the xbox version of wolf!

threewave and raven seem like a good team to take the project forward with the backing of id as allways! things are looking good! :D
