Clan name and the server?

Does ECGN have a specific clan? I'm guessing that "Smack" is the official clan but I see lots of other players such as B, Chick, Puzzy and also MAA to name a few who don't use 'Smack' or anything else in their names.

And if not, did Smack at one time have it's own server like =TAO= use to?
Also, how long have you been playing at ECG for?

I myself have been playing on the server for over a year now. It's funny how everything I didn't like about some servers years ago, I like now. I much prefer limited lives, plus the ability to use the Panz and flamer. Three things that =TAO='s B2B didn't have.
Plus the match time and amount of lives given is perfect imo. Did the server become this way through trial and error because whoever set it up originally, MAA I presume did a great job, actually the best job considering ECGN in reality is the sole survivor of RTCW mp.

Hat's off to ECGN and the players/admins running it.

There's not an official clan for ECGN. ECGN stands for East Coast Gaming Network. It was an actual business until it merged or got bought out or something like that by PowerVS. Originally ECGN was Motha F*cka's #1 OC48Gaming Server and that led to the forums being born (oc48gaming.com).

It used to be crazy way back. I believe 7 second spawn times for both sides, unlimited lives, lt's had full charge bars, unlimited panzers. It was a miracle when allies could touch the docs, let alone capping a round. Then shrub came along and was able to modify somethings in game. I believe ECGN was a lot of inspiration or encouragement of the features that Shrub introduced into his mod (poison needles, +salute to push out door blockers, drop weapons as a medic, etc.). We used to have it wear a medic could pick up a panz, and an lt could pick up a sniper rifle and literally camp the entire round on sniper hill. All the hectic rounds sort of made the admins have to be a little bit more anal than they are now (*cough* keekanoo). For example, putting an artillery on forward bunker was illegal; also +salute jumping over breach was illegal (I did this all the time because it was the only way to cap on allies by sneaking in at the beginning of the round-- this also led to me getting banned. Woops). Also, the spawn protection used to be a lot shorter, making panz shots into the clustered bunch at forward bunker and axis spawn a lot more easier to get multiple kills. Overall, a lot of modification was done over the years to have the basement campy, grenade spamming beach we love and hold on to dearly today.

You've been away from the game for too long now. You would be lucky if you even remember how to fire a weapon, nevermind flying through windows. If you like I can meet you on an empty server to try to bring you back up to speed.

Shit. I am only 23rd. If I wanted this accomplishment, I should have got off my ass and registered when I first started playing here.

I came along a little bit later, but my orignal name Slaughter I had deleted, I think I came in about mid to end of '02 (under Slaughter name) Slaughter2 was my second choice, but MIKE pretty much hit the point, it was crazy back then. I came along as 44444444ghter, lol could get my name to change on the front portion of the game, lol no clue that /name existed lol. I then joined up with AsB (Air Strike Bitches) that was when ff was off, then went to S.S. {wolf} (that was S.S. clans portion for RTCW). Then went to the clan I am in now for many years, still the same one but we take turns changing the name, my idea was OLD SKOOL, became admin in 0ct '03 when the whole KEEK thing went down, and BTW Mik3 was a pain in the ass back then
