On a related topic, how about the best movies that were robbed at the oscars...

Saving Private Ryan
Fellowship of the Ring

I mean come on, who is going to remember Shakespeare in Love and A Beautiful Mind in 20 years compared to these two...

I agree...saving private Rayn is a film that I will always remember.

Saving the private ryan was a interesting movie because of its incredible opening but we have to say that the story was stupid, spending 7 - 8 lives trying to save 1, cannot make that an Oscar awarded Movie, but refering to the fellowship of the ring personally I think that it really deserved more oscars awards.
If I have to choose a movie to show how the D day happened I prefer "the longest Day"
A batiful mind is a perfect movie, describing what the Esquizophrenic disorder features, also speaking about the perfect and very well described role played by Russel Crowe.
Shakespeare in Love that is a movie I haven´t seen and I prefer not to because of the various opinions given by some friends of mine.

Gwenyth Paltrow topless :D :D :D Period pieces always seem to do well at the Oscars for some reason...

I was very impressed by war-movies: a bridge too far, Schindlers list, Saving private Ryan, I also like the Band of Brothers, I got it on dvd...

Also a film that I will never forget: TopGun! Damn, I wanted to be a pilot so bad!!!

Oh Top Gun what a great movie.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

It's hard for me to believe that no one yet has mentioned "Quest for Fire". Anybody remember that one? A truly great movie. Every thought, feeling, or action is conveyed in that movie without a single word uttered. Unless grunts are words...

If any of you youngsters out there haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Probably the best serious movie about cavemen.*

*Not to be confused with "Caveman", starring Ringo Starr.:P

Plus it had naked chicks throughout the whole movie and the discovery of missionary position!

Haven't seen or thought about that one in a while Doug...
