Help with a Router/Firewall

i have a lynksys 24.GHz router and it wont let me download any files, it will jsut stop downloading after a short period of time..the largest file ive ever been able to download with it is 8 megs, i always have to plug the cable line directly into my cpu, anyone know how to shut a firewall off, i havent been able to figure it out

Wierdo is right I suspect. Goto linksys site, find the support files, track to your router, download and follow the instructions.

ditto on the firmware... older rev. linksys firmware had problems with streams of medium to large packet sizes (anything over 600-bytes really)... among other things....

ehh well its not easy t odo..anyone wanna give me instructions, i know where to downlaod and it and how to but when i did i had to put it somewhere and i had to clue where to put the file

I found this TechTV Link that explains how to upload the firmware. You can also do a google search and you'll come up with a bunch of sites explaining how to do it.

Make sure you document all of your settings (whether you think it's important or not). I've heard horror stories of the firmware upgrade wiping out the settings....
