Rolling back of FCC ownership rules

I hate for this to sound like solicitation, but I think this is an important topic. I don't know how many are familiar with companies like Clear Channel and such, but basically they're ruining the types of music we can hear on the radio and the types of concerts we can go see. Congress just enacted some laws a couple of months ago that's allowing the companies to get bigger but they are now thinking of repealing those laws if there is public pressure. There's a petition here: http://www.mediareform.net/petition.php . I enjoy listening to quality music on the radio, not crap, so I signed it. I'm not saying you should sign it, or you should not sign it, but it's there if you're interested.

Actually, it wasn't Congress that enacted laws allowing companies to have a great market share, but rather the FCC that voted in the regulations. I'm actually rather familiar with the issue, since my boss is the primary sponsor of HR 2052 - the bill in the House of Reps that would roll back those regulations to the way they were previously. I can give you all kinds of info, if you're interested...

Yeah, I'll admit that I wasn't 100% sure about the situation, but I have read through that website and I have to say that unless some of these regulations are repealed, it will be alot harder for us to hear new, more talented musicians on the radio and on TV and in concert. I'd love to know if you're willing to post a brief summary of the situation.
