<--- Guitar player

Angus is good but plays too many basic blues riffs and arpeggios. Kirk Hammett is awesome - I'd like to hear more clean stuff to decide though (lots of distortion and wah).

Randy Rhodes, Yngwie Malmsteen (sp?), Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, ... - those guys make the guitar sing.

Oh, and don't forget both guys from Iron Maiden - Adrian Smith and Dave Murray. Playing wicked riffs in unison is definitely an art....

 I like it, I love it, I want more of it...

since you are a guitar player shwoff, what is your opinion of Tom morello from rage against the machine/audioslave?

Thu Jan 23, 2003 8:09 pm

I don't listen to much Rage/Audioslave. Usually, just what's on the radio. But, since you asked, I'm gonna get out my Rage CD and listen to it intensely and try to form an opinion... Maybe, I'll listen while playing BF tonight....

pending....

you really need to listen to at least two of their albums to form a strong opinion about him. just keep in mind that all of that cool weird shit that you hear is done by his guitar.

Well... I do have to go reserve Road to Rome tomorrow... Maybe, I'll stop in to a music store and pick up another CD...

my vote was carlos santana. I play, and I admire his ability to fly accross the fretboard effortlessly. Honorable mention to Frank Zappa though.

Saw a few on list live. Santana and Clapton living. Frank Zappa was one of the best live performances. Outstanding.

Your list is full of great guitar players, but I think Jeff Beck, Pat Travers and Frank Marino need some love too.
