I looked at the one called 'The Badge'
163 MBs, about 6/12 minutes long.
I don't know what they used to 'capture' (Fraps or whatever) but the reason their video looks pretty sharp is the bitrate. The video is 640x480, 25 FPS (frames per second), DIVX 5.0. They are using 3182 Kb/s for their video, 335 Kb/s for their audio (quite a lot for audio actually).

One way to look at quality, to compare different sizes of videos is to look at the number of bits (from the datarate, per second) devoted to each pixel that get's rendered in 1 second.
so, resolution x fps=total pixels.
640x480x25 = 7,680,000 pixels rendered per second.
Divide the datarate (in bits per second, not Kbs) by the total pixels rendered in one second.
3182000/7680000 (its 3182 Kb/s, so it is 3182000 bits per second)
=.414
So, Q=.414, they are averaging .414 bits of data per pixel. More data per pixel mean higher quality.

Your video is 320x240
636 Kb/s for video
I assume 30 FPS
320x240x30 = 2,304,000 pixels rendered per second

datarate/total pixels
636000/2304000
=.276
so Q=.276, you're averaging .276 bits of data per second for each pixel rendered.

Other factors:
They might have a way to render their source video at a higher quality.
For example, they may have some way of rendering it uncompressed (100% perfect quality)
As well as they may have rendered it at 640x480 or better. The more perfect the source, the better the encode.
Using Fraps means the source video is rendered out with Fraps compressions scheme.
compressing material that is already compressed gives lower quality.
They may have just used Fraps, no way of knowing.

A smaller factor, they did use a 3rd person view for the video. Although the camera moves a lot, it's slower, sweeping movements,and some stationary camera shots too. This is a little easier on the encoding, compared to the frantic 1st person view and speed found when playing Beach 24/7. Technically the spectator view is 1st person, but it doesn't spasmodically whip around like the view from an actual player's viewpoint.

Also, final resolution. I'm not sure what decisions the encoder makes when you go with 320x240. Going from a higher resolution to a smaller resolution is fine, but the encoder has to make decisions on what information to throw away and what to keep.

The biggest thing is that datarate though.
As far as editing style, those guys are artists. Can't help you there :P

The word "Knö" (i never heard it before! - local slang) is defined in the intro of the film.
"i" = in
"Hörn" is a little town/village or a suburban. Put them together and translate it freely.
"Rumble in Hörn"?? perhaps.

EDIT--Yeah they are among the best teams out there. KiH as the Infensus guys are all Swedish players!

Have you seen the zeroLogic vid yet??

Haha yea I remember the Infensus one, it was great. Its been a looong time since I've seen it, but if I rememeber correctly, I really liked it cuz it was mostly footage from clan matches, so the ownage was especially impressive. Haven't seen those others, but I'll check em out one day. And again, thanks for the input everyone, appreciate it.

All footage comes from practices or offical matches, with about 80% coming from actual matches.
