What kind of car is it? I had a Dodge Aries and that thing was bulletproof. Drove it something like 40,000 miles without an oil change, and it didn't so much as sputter.
1989 Dodge aries. it was a very good car though. I drove it for a long long time without any problems. one day during winter I slid up onto a boulevard in the middle of a street and put a hole in my tranny, so I had to buy a new one. the new one failed, I had to get yet another transmission. then that one stopped working because the gears were stripped

Heh.. mine shook any time I took it over 85. Minor detail. Yeah, right before I got rid of mine it was making some godawful noises, especially when I started it up.

exactly. when I put it in reverse to back out of the driveway, the noise would stop. weird.

Damn thread hijackers......
Anyway, in further proof that fate has an ironic sense of humor, last night my 9800pro DID actually die (horribly and catastrophically died). So today, I had to go to the local BBY, used some clever trickery, and conned them into exchanging my 9800pro out for a 9800XT and letting me pay the small diff. (the X800pros SHIPPED yesterday, so they won't really be avail. for a few more days, at which point I'll likely go switch again).
Funny thing is, using the same cat's (4.4s) as my 9800pro, I get a nearly 1000pt lower 3dmark03 score, since my 9800 pro was o/c'd to speeds higher than 9800xt
. Owell, gonna have to overclock this one I guess
