Yep, almost every summer when I go to Poland to visit family, I see rip off of American shows. For example, when Who Wants to Be a Millionare was huge, they had "Millionares" (roughly translated) in Poland.
The BIG BIG thing over there last summer was Big Brother 2, yes it failed in U.S. but almost every person had their favorite pick to win there.
Also last summer when I went they had Polish Idol, and they also had some really really bad talent preforming.

come on, you have to admit that the "talent pool" in this video is pretty shallow.

Looks like a few family trees with no branches!

You mean they were showing third hand british shows like pop idol and who wants to a millionaire...the dastards whats next 'das weakest link'?

I love the dancing geek in that clip, but I really hope that the people in the stadium were waiting for something else otherwise I despair for German sanity.

That has to be a joke... otherwise Germany is doomed. See what happens when you don't have Hitler?

Nah, I read somewhere that it's the rejects from German idol. Not the real winners.

I feel bad for the audience, as you can see it must have hurt.

I was about to point that out Parrot. When I was in London for a couple of months in 1999, I watched Chris Tarrant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? many times. I found that a lot of the questions considered easy for the British audience stumped me (anything about what county is something in), while some of the harder questions ("Ted Kennedy is a senator from which American state?") were easy for me. Also, you people realy need to learn how to pronounce Maryland.
