The Worlds babysitter

On the note of war I ask you, can we mop up the worlds messes and still survive as a country?

We take care of every rogue nation in the world.

When the Serbs decided to perform genocide on the muslims we stopped it.

When the Somali warlords performed genocide upon thousands by starving them to death we stopped it.

We take a massive amount of the Worlds poor and uneducated.

We send aid to every ailing country, and assist in every major disaster around the world.

As Americans we are an EXTREMELY generous people. We need healthy countries because capitalism is our way. We cannot do business with crippled ailing countries, so we would rather see them healthy and flourishing.

Most of us are all for righting a wrong.

One major problem is in righting these wrongs. We seem to create nothing but enemies and leech's. They hang onto us dragging us down and slandering us as they do it.

So I ask you, how long can we try to heal the worlds woes? I am starting to feel the worlds problems are hanging around our neck like an anchor. The UN involves us in so many conflicts. We contribute about 60% of the UN's financing and man power. We carry the weight.

So I ask you again, how long can we as a country carry the weight of the worlds woes before we collapse under that pressure?

Maybe Post Modernism is fashionable in Europe, but in America there are still people who find that train of thought useless. Stradling the fence and being so objective you loose sight of what it takes to stay alive and breathing is a shitty philosophy.

Sure as hell isn't the UN (If that's what you're implying). As far as I'm concerned the group as a whole is hundreds of times weaker than the sum of it's parts.

Charity starts at home. Don't know how old ya'll are but, back when the Iranian students took our hostages, there was on of those songs that used to play on the radio, something about making a loaf of bread out of a barrel of crude oil!

It just pisses me off that America has come to the assistance of Europe on many occasions. During the second World War when non-Nazi Europe was fighting for their life America supplied them with weapons, and then entered the war. Americans lost their lives fighting for the freedom that French and Belgian and many other countries enjoy today. And when we need asssistance this is how they repay us. By being shitty backstabbing freinds. With freinds like France who needs enemies. It really is disgusting.

On the bright side their are countries like Spain and Denmark and of course England our greatest Allie.

French people hate Smericans anyway, why would anyone have expected them to grow balls and support the US? Not that I give a damn about France, but anyway, huzzah to the U.K.

Obviously every nation has its own views. But also understand that every nation is unique. For those bashing France (and Germany) for not supporting the US, you must understand these are not "Super Powers". They do not have the financial and military might that nations like the US. Often times smaller nations will shy away from war because they cannot support it from a resources standpoint, so why pretend to support it from a political standpoint. Other times it is that nations (like many European nations) still feel the pain of having everything utterly destroyed by the ravages of war.

Now with that said, my views and beliefs are that the US is doing the right thing and that it should continue to do so with or without UN support. I am with HoVoC and Doomy on this subject - how long can we continue to "right the world's wrongs"? The answer is simple - we will continue to as long as we stand for democracy and "freedom for all". It is the very foundation this country was built and we will continue to stand for that as long as we remain the United States of America.

Is this arrogant? Some might think so. That is their right. But it will not change what we believe is right. We believe that Suddam is a tyrant and will not stand for tyranny.
