Map Rotation

Postby Dune » Sat Nov 20, 2004 6:50 pm

Hi peeps,

I've been away for a pretty long period of time due to work, sickness, holiday, some family problems, etc,.... I'm back since one week now and I'm glad to be back. Although I noticed a lot changed. One of the major things I noticed is the map rotation. Personally I have nothing against it BUT since the map rotation system is implemented I can hardly connect due to missing .pk map files. For instance tonight mp_wizernes was played. I was apparently missing the appropriate .pk3 file so I downloaded it from RTCWfiles.com (RTCW didn't download the map from the server). In unzipped the file to my RTCW main file directory and try to reconnect...again missing *.pk3. I had this phenomena more then once tonight. Is there a place where you can download the appropriate maps that are implemented in the map rotation? Can someone please help me out because it isn't funny that you can't play a whole day because of missing maps or maps that can't be loaded. Thanks in advance for any help.

also make sure that your copy pasting the pk3 file into your main and not the compressed zip folder.

Ok thanks I was a little too quick I guess with this thread. I found the solution. Need to test it out though.

I donwloaded all the maps I could find in the posting and unzipped them to my main RTCW directory. Till now KungFu grip is the only map that isn't working when I try to connect. Don't know why but again the .pk3 file is missing although I know I know it is there? I'll keep you guys posted if other maps would give me trouble and maybe others too.

Theres a thread called 'Beach Custom Maps' posted by Man-At-Arms...they're all there! :D At the top of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein section.
