First I should apologize to you guys for being annoying lately, ... you see there is something bothering me, .. this brain dead woman story on TV all day long is driving me freaking crazy !!!!! I just want to kick everyone's ass on the beach every time I hear that woman's freakin name. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I'm sorry for being such a brain dead retard and I'm gonna try to be a better team mate. As fas as this brain dead woman I really can't see why it should matter either way what they do with her because she's useless anyway. But hey if they want to keep her alive so they can parade her on national TV then they're gonna have to deal with their maker when they ultimately have to pay up for their evil selfish intentions. Freakin media should pay more attention to our beloved sons and daughters that are giving their lives every day in that shithole Iraq. If I had any skills I'd be over there volunteering. Well, thanks for listening guys. PS Snipo, don't give in to the urge to reply.

her parents and thier attorneys are saying that she still recognizes them and has a chance at recovery but... i have also heard reports (which i believe are true, mainly because they are unbiased) that the part of her brain in charge of these functions is gone and "like liquid". And that her reactions, if any, are more like instinctive muscle twitches. They say she is in a permanent vegetative state, unaware of her surroundings and cannot process thoughts or think normally.
It is sad. They should just let her pass. In nature, she would have died long ago. It is only due to technology that she is still kept alive.

I totally agree with you CodeRed. What is most disturbing about this whole case is now the government is involved. This case is a very good example of why your wishes should be put in writing as in a living will. I think her husband must love her very much to go thru with this battle that has been going on for years. I know it's said he wants her dead in order to collect the malpractice settlement but I'm sure with all the lawyers fees he's accumulated there won't be much if any left of the settlement. It's a very sad case and I'm sure the tube will be put back in.

He has already collected the money. He also spent it on her keeping her alive.

It's bullshit the federal government is stepping in, especially those asshats claiming 'she wants to live' when they have never even talked to her, let alone seen her in person.

This is just another example of the 'small government' party showing they are anything but 'small government,' constantly stripping states rights and making it their own, inserting their religious beliefs on all of us.

Of course, the other 'big government' party is sitting there with their thumbs up their asses. Why? 'Oh shit, this is a Christian Conservitive issue, and we got our asses handed to us because of them. We need to look good and not go against them to maybe gain a fraction of a % in votes next election!!!'

Funnist part: the same party that is 'fighting for her desire to live' is also the same party that wants to hinder the money you can collect in court from malpractice and wants to cut her medicare that is currently keeping her alive!!! FUCKING FUNNY!!!!

And the same party who says error on the side of life everytime, and choose life etc. while at the same time ademently supporting the death penalty. Tis' Double-Speak. I'm loosing it with the Republicans as well.

Once again though, we have to suffer through a new media blitz that reminds me of the moment in LOTR that Gollum finally got his hands on the Ring again (F* you if you haven't seen the end of LOTR yet!). They sieze on some little morsel of news triumphantly then proceed to bash us over the head with it as long as is humanly possible. The news isn't enough, they need to hit us with talk shows about it, with guests, 'experts', viewer call ins, etc. The Scott Peterson thing is finally over and now we get this for who know's how long.

Agree. The most hideous thing in the world has got to be losing a child.

My only comments are is that she has PVS and will never recover no matter how long they wait this out. It's time to let go...

You gotta love this hypocritical government...:blow: :blow:

Ok I was gonna try and steer away from this but oh well....

I hear you say hypocritical government...and to an extent that true, but the fact of the matter is much of the Government Agenda comes from the Public Agenda...and the public agenda is blinded by the media. Everyone gets their information from TV and biased sources instead of the print.

"If it bleeds it leads" Its disgusting....

Here is the deal...with this whole Shaivo deal, and elderly people on death beds etc the claim is life no matter what the cost. Senator whats his face stood up before the Legislature and said Life No Matter What The Cost...the issue is no one is looking at the cost.

The picture is so much bigger than the media purports it to be. It costs damn near 20,000+ a month to keep Shaivo alive. Do any of you know where the money is coming from? It is coming from MEDICAID. As a matter of fact, an estimated 80% of all medicaid is going to elderly to maintain that last year of life....Medicaid is designed to go to CHILDREN (specifically of indigent families as created in 1964 as a partner to medicare) so that they may have healthcare. The children are the future, yet we take from them to keep elderly alive one last run in which they live in pain and produce nothing.

Now dont look at me like Im some sort of sicko (just playing devil's advocate). Elderly in the last year of life are not productive and it is bad policy to to take away from the future. Its a trade off the government is making but is not discussing. You know what are going to happen to these indigent kids that we are taking healthcare from??? They are most likely going to turn to crime, at which point we're going to have to pay for that expense too(and dont even get me started on the expense of the criminal justice system...).

Living in Florida and being in the center of it all here in Tallahassee you see a lot more to the situation that the media doesnt show. This whole Shaivo deal is just small part of it guys..and I feel that if her husbands wishes are to have her pain ended, as he lived with her and knew her requests then dont deny it. Think outside of the box people...for each month she is kept alive for the principle of winning the argument another child loses health care and is forced down a harder path in the future....

I need a
