HPC Back in Business!!

Wed Jan 06, 2010 12:18 am

Hey everyone just wanted to say Depot is alive and kicking again over at HPC (happy-penguin classic)! The crashing issue is fixed, and pings are reported 20-30 ms improved in some cases.

A special shout out to MAN-AT-ARMS for his input and assistance, he was more than willing to help us out!

Hope to see you there

Well, come on by and HELP make competitive play instead of waiting for someone else to make it happen :P

First off, let me again express thanks to MAN-AT-ARMS on behalf of the admins and players of HPC. His assistance was priceless in resolving our server issues. Thanks to FooFoo, HPC is again stable, not crashing, running good old shrub, but many players report improved pings.

Hope to see you on the battlefield!

Hey peeps! As part of our effort to restore HPC to at least part of its old glory, and to give players a couple of options for 1.41 shrub servers, we're hosting our annual Winter Games this weekend. Check http://www.happy-penguin.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=8870&posts=1&mid=94447#M94447 for times and tentative events.

I hope some of you can make it to join in on the fun.

Hey all, thanks for the great feedback!
As far as the comments on we kick/ban everyone, I would have to totally disagree. We have less than 10 people on the ban list, and we even put up with thebiggerman :) I can't even remember the last time I myself have kicked someone. If there's a door blocker or someone pushing afk's into the chute, I just mess with them like rcon clientkill or rcon disorient and piss em off so they quit themselves. I know Pierce enjoys a good admin abuse on troublemakers also.

I would also like to thank ManatArms for his insight on repairing the server. Losing a popular server on this old worn out game is no good for anyone in the long run.
Server stability and mysterious crashes have been a thing of the past for the last month, but unfortunately people got tired of it and have not returned. Hopefully things return to normal, but it may take awhile, if at all. Only time will tell.

RTCW = best $50 I ever spent.
Enjoy all.
