Both of my PC's (work and home) were attacked by a brutal virus/trojan within the last few weeks. I got the malware through the ads of a music forum that I am a member of. I didn't click on the ads either, it automatically downloaded the virus with firewalls active. This thing took complete control of the pc and would not let anything run except for it's bullshit virus scanner.
Luckily restarting in Safe-mode and running Malware-antibytes completely removed it. I would advise everyone to get this program because you may not be able to get it after your pc is infected. I update it daily.
The free version works great and has not failed me yet.(knock on wood):

CCleaner will remove any left over bullshit from the Registry (this is also free):
http://www.ccleaner.com/

Even if your computer doesn't seem to have any problems at the moment I bet these two programs will find stuff that shouldn't be there and make your pc run a little faster.

I saw him on here and looked to see what he was doing,he was private messaging. There's a few names on here that look like a bunch of letter crammed together. Makes me wonder. You don't see posts from them.

Thanks for the majorgeeks links. Anything that can help avoid a Windows re-install is worth it's weight in gold.

In the past I've used Lavasoft's AdAware and Spybot:Search and Destroy.
These programs would find the malware but could never get rid of it. Actually I would consider Spybot's "Tea-timer" to be just as bad as what it's trying to get rid of. I wouldn't waste my time on these two ever again. I'm glad that CCleaner could remove all traces of them from my pc.

Malwarebytes Anti-malware is the way to go, but you can also use linux and / or mac os to "mostly" avoid those problems with viruses and malware

This MannInBlackk also sent me pm too and refused his e-bomb attempt.

Lavasoft's AdAware and (Lately) Spybot:Search and Destroy are lately are piece of crap that need to be thrown into a bottomless well. Spybot's S&D's TeaTimer.exe is really an unnecessary waste I had to close down their crap.

I get pm's from him to telling me there is viruses on my comp and i need to dl some lame shit that will spam my computer up. I got another message from a guy named Kurtymann that was total bs [quote Dear, Eternity;maryrjaramillo;Joe;mjrhzrd;ObsewsDeexy!

There are viruses' activities from your computer! Highly recommend you to scan your computer for malicious and potentially unwanted software. If you do not follow this, I will have to make a complaint to your Internet Service Provider with attached log file (your IP address, etc.). If you want to find a report about your computer's security and solve every problem with it, please click here: http://www.total-scan.com/detected/Eternity;maryrjaramillo;Joe;mjrhzrd;ObsewsDeexy

Yuo should also use no script and only allow certain pages you want.
Fasterfox is also good for better performance in firefox.

Microsoft have a free virus program to Xp vista and win 7
http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Spybot search and destroy will also work.
And if you already infected use hijack this
http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

For help with the hijack

English forum

After this you ready to go again!

Do to all of the spam pm's I'm getting I tried disabling private messaging, but when I click on submit, it just hangs.

They are working on it, hopefully the "bad link pm's" will stop soon.

The important thing is not to click on those links, just delete them from
your in box.
