Never buy from Lexmark they will only support brand new pinter and their firmware update kills the printer. Their Tech support is unplug the printer throw it in the trash and 20% off a new printer.

I suggest to also beware of Hewitt and Packard's pos deskjet printers. My family bought 3 deskjet printers and all three particularly failed when not in use for a lengthy period of time for example, a few months. Some obviously leaked, shitty programming when paper jams. The last printer I bought is a Scanner/Printer and so far it works.

I would wonder why in god's name will printer ink cost so damn expensive than a deskjet printer?

http://www.e-rackonline.com/store/pens-refills/bicreg-round-sticreg-ballpoint-pen-bulk-sixty-pack/GSM609-BK/

There you go 60 ink pens for 13 buck. 4 colours in a printer 240 pens that $50 usd... It's about that or more for printer ink. Remember there is a shit load of plastic and metal, plus labor in making the pen. Where the printer uses way less.

Bottom line......... it's a scam.

New printer scam is the micro small ink cartridges. That are now shipped with new printers. The replacement is 2x to 3x bigger.

The trouble I am having with Lexmark is their site suggested to update the firmware of my printer, when I went to there site for the drivers of my printer. After I did a fresh install of windows XP. So after I got the printer up and running 100% on the computer. I downloaded and followed their instruction to update. Which are super simple. USB cable,Win XP, and a full functioning printer. Which I had. The firmware will not even start the wizard till it has all of this going. So it gets to around 90% complete and freezes for 2 days. I give up and call and the circus begins.

I actually have had problems with may brands. The only good one so far is the Kodak Esp-3 AiO printer that i have personally used. Ink replacement is cheaper as well. Another suggestion is to buy the "Walmart Specials" around 30$ and use the printer and toss it when the ink runs out. They seem to last about that long lol. No more refills and a new printer. These printers are inherantly slow and bottom line but if all u need is text and some poor quality photos ur set.

This was a printer, copier, scanner, fax or I wouldn't even have messed with it, and over $50 of brand new Ink
