Is it at all possible that you're just wrong? That no one actually hacks? Have you ever entertained this idea? It seems like it's just an assumed fact. And at this state in the game, I have a hard time believing people still hack.

But if you are convinced people hack, do some work.

Record demos and post them with timestamps. Saying someone kills 5 guys in a room doesn't say much.

I dont play the game anymore, so to be honest I dont really mind how this thread turns out. I did used to love the game though, and the server so i believe im entitled to state an opinion on an open forum...no?

I may aswell amuse you with a response even though youve literally just joined the forum which leads me to believe your just out to cause some grief.

It is possible im wrong about ECGN, however that youtube video says otherwise...but i know people hack for fact.

I have entertained the idea with no hacks, which could be partially why i made this thread.

I understand you have a hard time believeing theres hacks on a game this old even though you just posted me a great little anti cheat website - where if you look at its recent caught cheats, one was caught this month, by PB (so on review maybe PB does actually do something worth its salt).

Great website but its 1.0, I dont want to get into my beliefs about the state of things in that crap version if you dont mind.

Crap version ?

_Most active version of rtcw with scrims everydays.
_S4ndmod who is like osp but with more settings :
_Punkbuster,
_high speed map download,
_anti-camp setting,
_new game play mod like headshot only/panzer and sniper war/instant gib goldrush/ free for all ...
_old 1.0 glitches fixed, like the Infinite grenade spam, players dying through walls by explosions, ability to crash the server ....
_Some famouse 1.4 players find 1.0 interesting and some have played it (twister, Mirage ...)
Keep trying to win ...

I do think some of the players accused more often on ECGN are just that good at the game.

But ive also stated enough and i think other topics have been made that indicate there are some very questionable players who completely spoil the game for others.

The point of the topic was to make aware to those that constantly moan on the server and these forums about these players that nothing will be done about it because no proof can be provided and / or provide a possible solution...or even just continue to ignore the whole thing.

As far as im concerened the way things stand the regulars have the 3 choices which I pointed out at the end of my previous lengthy post.

edit:

Yoshi, I didnt say 1.0 is a crap version because it doesnt have a wide range of players and features. Like i said i dont want to get into it, mainly because this thread was aimed at ECGN and 1.0 is another topic in my honest opinion, but i appreciate your point of view.

Nobody gives a shit if you read it or not, you don't have any credit around here anyway so your input means nothing.

How are some of these Agents not banned for hacking? Look at there kill ratios and damage at end of rounds and tell me they don't hack, earlier 2 of them Agent Misery and Agent Greif totally hacked the whole round while two admins where on there same team not doing anything about it. I mean when you try to hit them your bullets go right thru , and then I call them out on it and say i'm gonna demo them and they all disconnect in the middle of round, HOW MUCH MORE PROOF DO YOU ADMINS NEED?

Poison the well fallacy. Not all criticism is to start shit, someone might actually just disagree with you.

It is possible im wrong about ECGN, however that youtube video says otherwise...but i know people hack for fact.

I posted that site for a reason. The reason is that there is a community of players who are faced with a game with no anti-cheat, which since pb is so outdated, is essentially what we have. What do they do? Well they certainly whine on forums and in game a lot, but they do more. They organize and design a system to evaluate suspected players. And certainly it isn't perfect, but it is far more productive and effective than a bunch of lower skilled players who up until relatively recently, never had to play against higher skilled players so they whine and complain and demand justice.

I don't think any regulars are hacking and it's fine if you and others do, but you must realize that you bear the burden of proof. And that requires work. In other words; demo or stfu.

@Meth0d last bit was just to say that there is no ABSOLUTE way to be certain aside from just playing on a server by yourself. There are so many different types and levels of cheat software, it's sickening.

For all those under the impression that older games are less likely to be hacked, go play counter strike, go play Delta Force, go play Diablo... That's all that's left now.

@Nigel. You're just worried they'd suspect you. You're far down the list. You're a good damn bit better than I, but you're far down the list... (jokes) There are always things that can be done to prevent and discourage certain activities. However, this late in the game it's hugely risk and rewards..

@Heater. Agents hacking? They don't have a rotflmao emoticon drastic enough to display just how funny that concept is....

Apologies nigel, I shouldn't have snapped just because you have just joined the forum. I must have been tired :P. Atleast you brought something productive into the topic.

I mean I hope people reading this don't think I'm just your average Joe who cries hacks and wants justice. I'm really not; as I've said I dont play anymore which surely indicates that. Although I would love to play again If this problem wasn't around, the outcome of this topic really wont effect me. I honestly just want better for the game and am trying to provide some thought into a problem that has been killing off servers for years in my honest opinion. (edit: I could be wrong about this matter having any effect on ECGN's popularity but I dont believe so, MAA knows the stats probably - the decline of the game and many of its used to be popular servers for me indicates its simple fact that it does happen though, eventually hacks become the majority and the server dies).

Whilst I think the website you provided and those who are active on it is a great thing for RTCW, a good idea, and could be incorporated into ECGN in some kind of way if people wanted it, I dont think it solves the problem entirely - but atleast its productive and the admins could do something like that.

I've mentioned countless times what I think demos are good for, yes they help but they dont prove anything 100% and are pretty much void.

I think 1.0 has Its own huge problems with regards to this topic, I think more dated bots are being used there because its easier to pull off, which is why more people get caught. I do think its a fun version to play though, just unfortunatly swamped with bots.

To be frank theres probably people out there who dont want any change, maybe a majority In which case fair enough, and its not my place to say what should and shouldnt happen, I didnt create this thread for people to believe that - It honestly was supposed to be a productive thread and not aimed at causing trouble. Atleast now I've stated what I think is the situation for RTCW's best server and more people may be aware of it whether they agree completely or not or whether they want to state there own views - If no action is taken I really dont mind.

Good posts :)
