Hellacious, I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess you're around 20 or younger.
'Don't care how long he plays bf1942. LOL Say that in 5 years when you want the car fixed, the groceries brought in, the pool cleaned, the dog-poop cleaned up, the neighbour next door yelled at for throwing his ciggarette butts into your roses, to go on a trip to an exotic place which requires your boyfriend A. to have a job. B., not at the computer gaming store C., he keeps more than 3 days--ie doesn't show up late every morning D., be willing to break away from the game long enough to get coffee let alone a 2 week vacation.
Serioulsy though, I'm happy for you. JUST kidding.

For one thing im not 20 im 25. We have 4 long happy years together I dont tell him what to do he knows what needs to be done around the house. I dont bitch at him for playing his computer games i play them too.

Me being her boyfriend, I resent that. We dont have a dog and Im still working on getting a pool. Whats wrong with a job at the computer gaming store, it pays $5.25 an hour.
Shes a great girl, a little confused at times and confusing at others but still a great girl which I love very much. Now quit trying to piss in my post toasties.

Hellacious, I appologize. Clearly you and your significant other (and he IS signficant) are exceptions to the 'rule'.
Yes, 'Rule', I'm 39 and have been there done that--and seen it a lot more times. Most couples by 5 years are into serious entrenched war-far that more resembles something out of WWI then it does the pastoral cozy romantic settings oozing out of Martha Stewart magazines.

Can't say I have been to the top of the hill with the meese or ever read MS: Behind Bars. Guess that is why I have such a brighter view of life and relationships (seek help Keek, seriously).
Having been through my share of good times and bad times in and out of relationships I can say this much. What I look for in a woman now is much different than it was I first started seriously dating.
A) She has to be physically striking to ME in some way. I am not saying drop dead gorgeous or big boobs... Perhaps it is a quirky smile that makes me want to see her smile more often, maybe the way she krinkles her eyes when she laughs out loud. Just something that will lure me in and have me look for all the other things that are "special" about her.
B) Sense of humor and relaxed temperment. Pretty self explanatory here I think. She has to be able to joke about the every day stresses that we all go through and actually find the odder things in life genuinely funny.
C) Personal strength. I want a companion through my life, not some wilting social flower. She has her own mind and opinions, but is not closed to those of others. She turns to me not out of need, but out of desire to be with me.
D) Has to love children. Even before my daughters were born, I have always deeply craved the fuller sense of "family" that exists when you have active little minds turn to you for answers and perhaps a piggy back ride.
Those are the big things I guess... So many more things that we all look for but those are a few of the easier ones for me to define...
