Has anyone ever painted an LCD?

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Has anyone ever painted an LCD?

Postby shockwave203 » Sun Sep 28, 2003 1:44 am

My white LCD has a 50ms response time which is unacceptable for gaming, so I bought a 19" CRT which has a really great picture.

Anyway, I'm one of those guys who likes everything to match, so I'm gonna paint my LCD black.

ANyone here ever done that? I registered at a computer modding forum, and my questions about this haven't been answered yet.

I know I'm suppose to take it apart, sand it lightly, prime it, paint it/spraypaint, let it dry, and put it all back together.

I am kinda scared but I am going to do it. Anyone ever do something like this?

I haven't painted a monitor, but I've painted my case..this is how I did it:

1) Cover anything important with tape.
2) Take a spray paint primer and prime the object before painting.
3) Spray paint the object
